So just saw Beachum live on facebook discussing his status as a free agent. The more I heard him talk the more I think he was preaching his skills for other teams. Also got a update on social media that the team is leaning on starting Villy.

I think Beach is gone. I wish him well if he does.

Sad to see solid performers go but we need the $

Side note Villy Beach sounds like it would be a nice vacation destination.

    thought he was going for

    Silly/.....

yes sometimes you have to let the players test the market and realize that they aren't needed elsewhere

AV will be the starter at LT.

Because Beachum can play LT someone will offer him a decent contract but not a high LT contract.

The Steelers will not match that to keep him as a backup. It would be a waste of money.

Therefore, the only way Beachum stays is if the Steelers project him as the starting LG.

yup I agree with the posts here. I think they see more upswing with Villy as he is taller and is improving. Beach wants the money, he even said so just not in those words lol.

Agree with your statement but........ man, it's really scary - your avatar looks just like me before that first cup of fresh ground Joe in the morning. You hide a cam in my cabin or sumptin? :zombie:

Beach is gone..... He has said he is a LT and not an OG.... His numbers as a starting LT place him high among FA LT so he will command a high salary but his injury status is holding things back. The steelers will offer him a starting LG salary most likely but I see him refusing and testing the market.

Hope he signs a huge contract, makes the probowl to give us a decent comp pick

I know it won't happen, but I'd like to see him at guard and dump Foster.

Hate to see when we lose ANY O-line depth. Just a couple of years ago, we were an absolute mess on the O-line. Don't want to go back to that.

I keep hearing KB's injury will prevent him from getting top LT money. With guys like Okung, Penn, Schwartz, Smith and possibly Beatty and Long all ahead of KB might bring his number down. I can see us bring in Meredith if Munch likes him from his days over in Tenn as a cheap back up to AV.

We always do.....but one thing that is for sure is they will fit. Dwill was a great pick up, Mitchell was a above average sign for us, bringing Gay back was a genius signing, even the DHB signing wasn't bad. Let's also remember the Blount signing wasn't bad until his car ride.......lol! We have found guys that contribute pretty good and we don't over pay.

Are you over 50? A colonoscopy is a good idea. Saved a friend of mine. I'm just looking out for you.

I think there is a 50/50 chance in him coming back, he is gonna test the market but he knows where his best chance is and I think Ben wants him back, jmo.

Plus, Villy is hungry and discipline to learn more and comes at a very cap friendly cost

That would be a huge mistake. He's a below average run blocker and doesn't have enough junk in the trunk to anchor there. He wants be paid as a starting left tackle and I wish him the best of luck

Steelers have a cheaper option at LT, Beach will not be back. He's not going to be a back up, hes not going to switch positions either, not when some team will pay him more money to be their LT.

Only way Beach is back is if the Steelers feel AV isnt capable of doing the job and I think he showed he can.
