Taysom Hill also got a big deal as well. Four years for $140 Million albeit with a catch. That $140 Million Dollar mark is actually voidable. The tweet by Adam Schefter.

Further info is below by John Sigler of saintswire.com:

"No, Hill is not going to earn $35 million a year. Schefter clarified that Hill’s restructure lowers his salary cap hit by more than $7.5 million, converting most of his $10.72 million base salary into a signing bonus spread out over the years of this new (automatically voiding) contract. The Saints were only about $12 million in the red anyway so now they’re nearly cap-compliant. So why bother with that outrageous $140 million figure? Because the new years added onto the contract will void automatically, the Saints could have written anything they wanted; none of it is guaranteed or counting against the cap. Instead, in doing this they continued to preach the company line of viewing Hill as a franchise quarterback worth top dollar. They just aren’t actually paying him that."

In short?! Winston could still end up beating out Hill for the starting job.

Former Browns Guard Kevin Zeitler picked up by the Ravens, he was a cap cut by the Giants, very good player, good signing for the Ratbirds. 3 years $22m most of it guaranteed

In the case of Zeitler, JJ Watt and others they were cut from their teams so are free to sign where they please.

If a players contract is expiring they they are technically still with their team so must wait for the new league season before signing with another team.

So even Bill belichick is getting with the times. Let's see if the Steelers remain in their old ways.

Pats purged years of restructures and can kicking in 2020 and they are now reloading. I really like the guys they have picked up, albeit I think the Smith and Judon contracts are a little rich. It’ll be interesting to see what they do at QB, I find it hard to believe that they are rolling with Cam for the year again.

Steelers have no choice for this year, they are completely caught with the falling cap.

They will have some money to spend in 2022, even after they pay TJ and a couple of others.

That was a shocking resign. Either Bill found some loophole to con the league out of a first by cutting him or they saw something the rest of the planet didn't.
