Mason is the PR department's cash cow, he is like Tom Brady 20 years ago before he stopped eating meat for eggplant. Dobbs has a story everyone likes and no one says yeah but when discussing him. Haskins was passed on by everyone including the Steelers before getting this opportunity to start again at the bottom. He is one strippers backside away from not having a job so as much as Tomlin has an itch I don't think he makes the squad over the other two.

Let's see what happens with play against an opponent. Then we'll see how wonderful these guys are. Based on history, prepare yourself for disappointment. They are what they are for a reason. What evidence changed anything, practice with red jerseys?

Dobbs is having a good start to camp... many possibilities in play (it may not be popular for me to say this but Dobbs (at only 26) is capable of improvement

I don't care, the playoff game was the biggest game of the year and he was a no show .

I never said the pass rush rush was going to be ineffective without Bud.

But TJ is the one in the DPOY conversation, and he had the season finale off, two tackles in the game isn't good enough.

peruse profootball-reference.com and note all the QBs that are A) younger than Dobbs and B) have played more. There are at least 2 dozen. “Only 26” with virtually no play is not a recipe for success.

Fun fact 2: In the playoff game vs Cke, Ben threw more passes in Q4 than Dobbs did in his 4 yrs. the same was true in Q2 and Q3. At the pace Josh Dobbs is going, his career pass attempts will exceed Bens attempts in the Cle playoff game in 2032.

True, I’d normally say in three week Dobbs will be pumping gas. But in His case, he’ll be designing hyper sonic jets. I can’t imagine a scenario where Dobbs is on the roster and Mason is not. And unless Haskins screws up off field, he stays because his upside is waaaay higher. I just don’t understand the undying, unrequited Dobbs love. And I like the guy!

I have nothing to say. Nothing at all. Just politely being quite. No thoughts on Ben whatsoever……..

not to be a party crasher, but a Ben, Haskins, Dobbs QB room looks intriguing, Mason will get looked at by other clubs and if no one buys he can work on his deep passes in the CFL sans James Washington , just keeping options open and not closing the door on any one

    It's Ben,Mason Haskins either could be #2

But if I could get a 3rd or 4th for Mason I would have no problem with 7,3,5.

Remember Masson is the only QB signed for 2022. There is a reason they signed him to a new contract this year.

I believe Canada was 100% behind this signing.

Perhaps it's still early, but this is my first year outside of Pittsburgh during camp and it feels painfully quiet. Just doesn't seem to be that many actual stories even though it felt that there a slew of them heading into camp. YouTube feels quiet; message boards feel quiet; even Twitter feels quiet. Maybe it's just me, I don't know. Lol

nothing is decided, every position is open, as Tomlin said, its about performance in the next few weeks, contracts can be be renogtiated or trades cld arise, or players cld be cut outright, predictions at this time must be tempered

Any news who is starting at RB on Thursday?

Is it me or has Benny Snell completely vanished in camp?

Just a feeling I have and a belief that Dobbs has gotten better .. IMO Haskins has showed the skill he just needs the right mental approach and Coaching..Plus a new OC that Dobbs fits with better ..

edit.. Mason with another bad practice Haskins the best of the 3 with Dobbs making better throws than Mason downfield and scoring with his legs according to camp reports..

A few other things I am picking up is the use of the Pistol formation some zone read PA passes off that and some Pony backfield stuff with PA off of that and some Single RB with PA boot and half boot game off of that..

So I see a theme developing as I thought it might ..It seems Matt wants to use packages that use the mobility of the QB ,he seems to like PA much more than our old OC...So IMO Dobbs is going to make the roster because of how well he fits those approaches ...To me the QB battle is between Mason and Haskins and by all reports Haskins has been way above the line and Mason has been below the line if this trend continues I think my prediction just might play out..
