I think the premise behind this entire discussion is that sports media doesn’t have all the answers. Even the best are making some assumptions or relying on sources who may not be entirely accurate.

There are some reporters who are better than others.

I also think the proliferation of social media and podcasts has led to even more inaccurate reporting (increased speculation and repeating stories from inaccurate sources).

I saw what I believe was an unfair accusation against a reporter. I responded appropriately. Others will have to judge if he did the same.

As a general comment, that is all fair, especially the part about social media and podcasts. That said, relying on a source that may not be accurate is not the same thing as making things up. That is an important distinction.

    Actually I don’t

I just have a low tolerance for idiots and bull****

Or in this case a false accusation made because of poor reading comprehension just to argue

And the poster in question has a well known reputation for this

    Would you tolerate that

@steelersrule6@steelersrule6 and I were having a nice debate

I read it as a statement that agents lie all the time. I never even considered that he was talking about the reporter. But that’s just me.

Same here. One can argue about the credibility of the sources a journalist chooses to trust enough to print as a reflection upon their reputation, but I took the shot here to be at the agents, et al, that are feeding the 'information', not the journalist.

The discussion was about Russini's report. If that wasn't what he meant, he had ample opportunity to clear that up. He chose to make things ugly instead.

At best, you were unclear. The discussion was about Russini. When I asked you for an example of her making crap up, you could have simply stated that you were talking about media in general or agents. Instead, you chose to make things confrontational and engage in personal attacks. I even acknowledged that I may have been rude in one of my responses and apologized. You doubled down. One of us is making false accusations and seeking conflict and it is not me.

The discussion was about Russini. If you both read it that way, that's fair. I believe my reading of it was fair as well. He could have chosen to simply clear it up, but then there would have been no conflict.

I had. Others kept going and I responded to them. You chose to insult me again. Please stop doing that. Have a great evening. Go Steelers.

For those who think he has a big say in where he goes, I'm not sure he would want to go to the Ravens. I'm not sure he is going to get the number of targets he would want there. The Ravens are a run-first team with Henry and Jackson. They have an outstanding young receiver in Flowers. They have two tight ends who are big threats in the passing game. I don't know if they are going with both tight ends and Ricard out there with Henry and just one receiver, but I imagine they could have great success with that grouping. I'm sure they would be better with Adams, but would he be happy there?

We should not be buyers of a 1 year rental at WR that involves any day 1 or day 2 pick compensation. That should be crystal clear now if it wasn’t already. Too many issues to plug with a single WR.

Despite everything that has gone wrong the last two weeks, the Steelers are 3-2 and tied for first in the division. They aren't going to give up on the season, which means I can still see them being in on a receiver. Last night was further evidence that they desperately need one.
