Never ever ever trade Cam

 

I believe it was before last season. Either way he’s a team captain he supposed to be endorsing and supporting the team philosophy. I could understand he was the players rep for the union and wanted to go against something.

 

As team captain, he needs to be supporting and looking out for the players. Much of the time, that is going to align with the goals that will help the team win, but not always. I respect Heyward more for doing what he felt was right for his guys, not less.

 

No I believe Cam has 1 more years left on his contract, when that is done he will be too.

 

Technically Cam has two more years on his deal after 2022 but yeah it wouldn’t be a surprise if he doesn’t play the last one. Hell, he may even go at the end of this year, this team is not winning anything in the short term and Cam has already earned a lot of money. Nobody would blame him if he prioritises his health going forward

 

Thank you for clarifying that, I think if Cam feels good and doesn't get injured, he will fulfill this contract.
As someone who is a half glass full type of guy I believe we can get this ship turned pretty quickly.

 

Just FYI he is due to earn $16m in the final year. Quite honestly I can’t see them paying that to a 35 year old. That year is probably there for cap purposes more than anything else.

 

Yes his cap hit would be high, but maybe the Steelers can negotiate his last year sort of like Ben.
Cam is still playing at high level, If TJ and Leal doesn't get hurt Cam would see much less double teams.

I lived through many of them. Just got use to so many seasons without one. Worse for me was the mid 80's. We made Playoffs early 80's but those middle years we pretty much sucked.

 

I want Cam to retire as a Steeler. He’s 100% effort 100% of the time. Wish everybody on that defense was.
