Total knee replacement

So I'm 2 days out from my knee surgery. This one's gonna be a long rehab. This makes number 5 for surgeries on both knees.
I've done my share of rehab so I know how important that is. Any other tips or input from anyone who has had this done is greatly appreciated.

 

Just from patients I image, expect 2 weeks of hell on Earth. Stay ahead of the pain with the meds if you can. Sleep whenever you can. RICE is your friend.

 

You're absolutely right about staying ahead of the pain. I was talking to some guys who have never had the surgery but hate narcotics and said they wouldn't take them. I told them they would be in a world of pain if they didn't. So far I've done pretty well staying ahead of it and being on schedule.

 

All I can say is good luck. I have never had it. I did have a doctor tell me I need one done about 20 years ago, but had a friend that's a chiropractor, and a medical practitioner who begged Me not to have it done , and said give Him 3 months with it. I haven't has a problem with it since.

 

Do not muck around with PT. It’s painful, it mikeyg’s, but it’s worth it

 

Sorry for your troubles guy. I've been taking two herbal products for many years and my only real problem is my sciatic nerve at times. And I play a short Golf course just about everyday weather permitting. I golf with guys who have had this done and they are always happy when they can at least play easy golf.

Best of luck Metal Man. Not an enviable journey you have ahead. I'm blessed so far for some reason without any such needs but pretty much every guy I know has had either knee or hip RS or both. We'll expect you back in the starting lineup real soon!

 

Yeah, fortunately I've rehabbed 4 other knee surgeries so I know how important it is. This one's the real deal though.

 

I abused my knees in sports when I was younger and 3 surgeries to the same knee finally took it's toll. My surgeon, that did all three on that knee, talked me out of it for years. Quality of life was getting worse because of it so I waited for him to retire and bullied his kid into doing it!

 

Yeah, my knees are pretty beat up. All the surgeries took their toll. Doc told my wife post op that it was in really bad shape.

Metal dude, if I recall you dig cars.??? Got a deal for you. Sammy Hagar (Montrose still top 10 album for me) is growing to old to drive his "Ferrari LaFerrari". I think they only made 499. Price tag around 1.5 million. Sammy seems to think it will fetch triple that.

That would be a badass car to get in trouble in. That's for sure! Just happen to be 1.5 mill light right now. Spot me? You know I'm good for it!
