    Agree on Jimi!

None of those dudes wanted to play shows with Hendrix because he blew them off the stage live.

Fun fact: Miles Davis and Hendrix apparently jammed in a room for an hour or so, and nobody thought to record it.

Love your picks of Paul Rogers and Marty Balin. While Grace Slick got all the attention, Marty was the true vocal talent of the JA. Check out his song "Today" on Surrealistic Pillow, one of the most haunting tunes ever. Very mellow - not for everyone. https://youtu.be/5SXy7G5dtb4

Edit: In researching this, found out Marty was Autistic. Very impressive my man.

Got to see Paul Rogers and Eddie Money back in mid-2000's at the LA County Fair of all places. Tickets were $10 and you got to choose your own seat. Rogers was fantastic and did all his stuff from his Free days through to Bad Company and then solo material. Eddie was terrific as well. I truly felt I had Two Tickets to Paradise that night. :thumbs up:

All Along the Watch Tower is probably my favorite JH recording and his singing works well on this Dylan song. Dave Mason's version is very good as well.

I know ... I've heard that, but I don't buy it. There has got 2 be a recording of it. Miles Davis recorded everything.

I was looking for what I read about that, and ran across this:

    https://www.rollingstone.com/music/...artney-for-supergroup-with-miles-davis-65515/

But the article touches on the story that they didn't actually jam in a studio, but rather Hendrix's apartment, which would explain why nothing was recorded.

I don't think any of these lists are wrong. Music is definitely subjective. Rock History is practically 7 decades now.

    1 Freddy Mercury
    2 Layne Staley
    3 Chris Cornell
    4 Eddy Vedder
    5 Bob Segar

6th spot for an up and coming vocalist: Tatiana of the band Jinjer. She hits about every range as well as got the growling, vocal fry aspect to a T. She's probably not most people's cup of tea, but she's a blend of Gwen Stafani and death metal.

In the Prog Rock arena (not everyone's idea of rock music) here would be my faves:

    1. Gary Brooker - Procol Harum (Whiter Shade of Pale, Conquistador etc) - saw them 3 times
    2. Steve Winwood - mainly his Traffic days but everything else was great - Spencer Davis Group, Blind Faith...) saw him twice as a solo act
    3. Peter Gabriel - not the best vocalist but the whole package is/was tremendous - unique style - never saw live
    4. Iva Davies - Icehouse (Aussie band from 80's - never saw live
    5. Justin Hayward - Moody Blues - terrific songwriter and still had his same singing voice and range in his mid 70's as of 2 years ago. - Saw Moodys probably 12 times and Hayward 3 times as a solo act

Pisces is what introduced me to them. It's songs like Vortex, Teacher Teacher and Retrospection that got me hooked onto them. Newer metal, especially prog and deathcore seems more jazz influenced than blues influenced. Home Back is another solid song from them that's reflective on them wanting their home back in regards to the Russian/Ukrainian war.
