Agreed. Taste are different, but being spongy is why angel food cake is so wonderful to top with fruits, and other things because it absorbs the toppings very well. Like blueberries swimming in blueberry sauce. Yummy in My tummy. LoL

Many years ago I worked in a restaurant where we could have a free meal and desert just not the cheesecake

So naturally I ate the cheesecake

Now I bake them for peoples birthdays

I did the same a as a teen at EL Chicos(texmex) Cafe. I think that's why I don't eat much Mexican type food anymore.....because I ate there every day, and I played, and lived in a band with American/Mexicans at the time, and that's all I ate for like 2 years.

I’m actually thinking at a Christmas party a smaller version would be a good option when putting out a bunch of appetizers as an alternative to shrimp

Maybe put it next to the meatballs or sliders
