I can't debate or disagree with people who don't like him for whatever reasons and think it's time for a change.

He's been a successful and good coach that helped this team win a lot of games. I won't let the failure to win more Superbowls taint the fact the hes a good coach. He won't be considered a great coach until he can win more Superbowls.

He never made it to the top in my example. The top was more than a decade ago. He had a rebuild cycle and lots of talent in that decade. He's going in the wrong direction. I laid it out right there to see, I even included a graph. Trending downward.

I have been a fan of the Steelers since 1975, so save the history lesson for somebody who needs it . Duh, after the first 5 years they had to rebuild the defense, news flash it doesn't happen overnight.

I think Tomlin is a good coach, his winning percentage says so.
I think it's time for a change. His style isn't working anymore
I think any change needs to be made at the END of the season, not during.

News flash: Bell and Brown aren't going to the HOF and that HOF QB style of play leads to a lot of turnovers. All that great talent on offense the only time they stayed completely healthy was 2017, but the defense sucked. They lost the Super Bowl to Green Bay with 3 turnovers, HOF QB threw 2 ints including a pick six, then the RB fumbles when the Steelers had some momentum.

    Hey steelerrule6.

The ideal way to keep the "D" or "O" boats afloat is to address the issues as they arise reasonably in advance. We know players' careers eventually come to an end. However, it is possible without having to make wholesale changes to prepare for this. Just look at your avatar (Great one at that!). A little foresight goes along way. Do not hold onto the aging players all at once, start replacing them as needed on a one-one basis. Hopefully, this process can be methodically done without missing a beat. The problem is, and I get it, where do you find the next once in a lifetime Joe Greene.

Ideally if this can be done, then there is no sense of urgency for wholesale changes. Given that, easier said than done. Just look at Jarvis Jones and in my opinion Bud Dupree (who is getting better but not setting the world on fire either). They were suppose to replace Harrison Woodley, Timmons, etc. Unfortunately, my theory has flaws as well. You do your homework on a player, roll the dice and hope for the best.

The fly in the ointment is to find those players' replacements on an individual basis as you foresee their time coming up. For example, we should have been looking at Mean Joe's replacement several years in advance. The same for each player: Ernie Holmes, Dwight White, and L.C. Greenwood etc. I know that what I am saying is not new to management. Once again, the big problem is finding those players of an equal or better caliber.

They beat a back up QB, they’ll be sitting with us at the bar during the playoffs, then their team will fall apart because it was a one year shelf life just like the Rams.

Long story short I can’t buy into the excuse that it took time to build the D. The biggest road block to fielding a competent defense for many years was the horrific secondary we had. That falls not only on KC but MT especially because that was his specialty supposedly. The draft failures are well documented . That’s a big failure on MTs part.

The only thing you "fixed" is your mind because it is permanently closed about how great your hero Mike Tomlin is. He can do no wrong in the delusional minds of the MT apologists.

Man..I would love to have the game in hand and up by 20+ points in the third quarter, unfortunately, we will keep the Bengals in the game until the last few minutes of the game. We can’t put anybody away, especially sub par teams. That’s the standard:hehehe:

    Hey thesteeldeal.

Yes, you are right. MTs failure of the Secondary's draft and development is horrendous. It set this team back light years. That is why I am so glad we got Minkah. Unfortunately, we had to let another team do the work for us that "Captain Obvious" (AKA: Mr. My Area of Expertise) could not handle. And with the acquisition of Minkah, we are now down a #1 Round Draft Pick next year. Oh well, this staff would have probably F-ed that one up again anyway.
