Okay, but neither of your points has anything to do with what I'm talkiing about.

Please don't lump me in with the totally clueless on this one. I might be, but that game went pretty much as I expected, particularly the winner/loser.

You don't win 65% of your games by being a bad coach :hehehe:

    Hey MadtownDruankard.

Your timeline is right on point. A voice of reason. However, you are not stating anything that is not the obvious. I was down with Tomlin his first five years or so. Hey, we could only go by what was unfolding as time evolved. It is so obvious about the diminishing of Cowher's players and the evolvement of "Tomlin's Team". I have supported him but he is just not head-coaching material. As I stated, like some others, his supposed strength seems to be limited to "Motivation". That may be good enough possibly if he had a strong supporting Assistant Staff (OC, DC, ST) but he does not.

Because the game went as I expected.
(I'd love an example of me 'bitching' about anything in this thread)

The Browns didn't really play good Thursday. They will definitely miss Garrett on the defense, he was a monster for them this year.

You won't get a straight answer from @steelersrule6@steelersrule6

He's too busy defending our coach by a percentage. That's it. That's all there is to good coaching. If you are 65% or higher, it has nothing to do with the team assembled before you started coaching. If you win 65% or more of your games, you get credit for every previous draft, every previous acquisition, and every coach that remained on your staff. 65%? You are the man, MT.

All hail king 65% and bow down to him. He has never made a bad decision since winning 65% of his games. Again, that's all that matters.

    And another thing @steelersrule6@steelersrule6...

Tomlin's inherited team gave him a win % of 69% for the first 5 years while he dismantled them. Since then, it dropped to 61%.

Now not all "fans" understand the team and its history, so I'll help you make sense of it. Since the 70's dynasty years, this team has strived for championships, not percentages. The goal every year is to get another ring. If you go 9-7 in the regular season and beat a undefeated in week 17, which team would consider their season a success if you end up winning the superbowl with a lower winning % than the team you defeated?

"Fans" like you would rather have more wins than championships. But that's not what the Steelers are about. I know it's confusing, but someday you might get it. Doubtful, but entirely possible.

Because he had a HOF QB, RB, and WR for most of his tenure...And still greatly underachieved... Continually losing ( and still does ) to inferior opponents

If his strength is his " motivation " then why does his team "always" seem to come out flat, and " continually" lose to garbage teams... Isn't that where the " motivation " part of Coach Tomlins strengths would be seen?

Seem isn't fact and neither is the continually losing to garbage teams a factual point.

Whether you recognize it or not Tomlin is a good coach.

Coaches can only do so much from a motivational standpoint. There is an issue with players that need coaches to motivate them for their livelyhood. Games are generally won on Sundays because players execute and limit mistakes.

So you are saying that the Steelers don't have a history of playing down to inferior teams and losing to crap teams?

I don't view teams as inferior. Anyone who does doesn't pay attention to what happens in the NFL.

Pay attention. Every team in the league has the talent to beat your team. Every team in the league loses. For example every one of New England's loses last year were to non playoff teams.

One problem with Steelers fans is they have a superiority complex.

Well the facts support my opinion. Like Tomlin coached team's win loss record, 8 out of 12 year playoff appearances, 2 Superbowl appearances, ect.

Tomlin is a good coach. Not sure how anyone can disagree?? Only one coach is clearly better. Every other coach is debatable.

    Hey Disco.

You will get no argument from me about the so-called "Motivation" strength. I guess it has just been thrown around here so much. The Tomlin lovers need some straw to grasp at. I am with you. I do not care for the guy at all.

Yeah can't stay on top forever. Proves he can help put this team in position to compete for the Superbowl. That proves Tomlin is a good coach.
