Hard to figure. I'm sure he is good for rest of life with the dollars. And I'm guessing being a HC in the NFL is a very time consuming demanding job. Best I can figure, Mike loves being a HC in the NFL. If he is not ready to leave football there has got to be a ton of easier jobs that he could get.

What would be funny is if he became an analysis in the booth. Steeler fans would be howling when he gave his take on why things went right or wrong

 

When you change a GM it's usually at that time when he brings in his head coach, at least in agreement with the owner. When Colbert came in it was because Donahue and Cowher could no longer work together, Rooney's were given a choice and they chose Bill. The entire process of choosing Omar still has me puzzled. When Colbert was done he should have left, I get interviewing others, it's a part of the process and actually may help all the parties involved, but Omar was and has been the guy in waiting for a while. At that time MT should have left as well and the Rooney's should have insisted on it. Tony Dungy faces that situation in TB and went to Indy and had success, IDK if Mike would, but when it's time to go..it's time to go.

 

He says they're always looking at the team's performance and in that sense they're not doing anything differently in the bye week.

That doesn't mean they're not doing anything different in terms of practice, gameplan, etc. or that they're happy with where they're at (later in the article it notes how exasperated he sounds about some of the issues raised).

That said, whether that translates into change on the field is likely unrelated to what's said at a press conference...

Yea, did I pick up where he said something along the lines of "Haven't we talked about this enough already?" when it came to the ineptitude of the offense? Well, we HAVE TALKED about it enough already, the problem is that NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE about it yet, obviously, so we're gonna continue to TALK ABOUT IT. Got it?

Why go? He’s paid handsomely with zero pressure it does not matter if he loses every game . This is a dream job for anyone .
