Mike Florio on Mike Tomlin: “A lot of noise outside. Inside, it’s business as usual for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have no desire whatsoever to make a change at coach and they have no reason to believe that Tomlin wants to go. They’d actually like to extend his contract, which runs through the 2024 season. They’d like to get that done before next season begins. He’s already involved in roster planning for next year and the year after. From their perspective, nothing is changing." #Steelers #NFL

And that's that. Not a surprise in the least. No Super Bowls for the next decade is the future.

This really angers me. I stopped going out to the Steelers bar because of Tomlin and won't go until he's gone. I really liked meeting people out but there's too many wasted days under Tomlin. :frustrated:

Is this the first time you folks have seen the Steelers? Holy shi$! They are as predictable as the tide coming in. This team will never under current ownership panick, enter a coaching mill or bend to fan complaints. They just don’t. I complained all through the 80’s about the team but they would never fire Chuck. It’s who they are.

My screen name is referring to the negativity on this blog. Our fans hate everything, including success.

We're doomed franchise. Oh well, in order for their to be good NFL teams, there have to be crappy ones. We'll hold up our crappy end with Tomlin leading this dumpster fire.

So long as hiring OC and DC is taken OUT OF HIS HANDS, we have a chance to overcome Tomlin's ineptitude. I have serious doubts Khan and Rooney would lay down the law on that though (Khan probably would like to, but Rooney is too much of a pushover).

The good news is, I haven't watched a single Steelers game this year (other than a few plays here or there). I have freed up a lot of time knowing Tomlin can't coach and its pointless to set aside time to watch the unwatchable.

I hold out hope on the next OC being competent and Khan working more magic in the off-season. If he can draft/sign an all-time great talent team, even Tomlin can't completely bungle that (he just needs to get out of the way...keep quiet, lay low, miss lots of practices and we have a chance).

Yep, we can all ditch our season tickets and free up 3 hours every Thursday, Sunday or Monday for more pleasurable activities, like watching paint dry for instance.

I have a feeling we'll be HOPING for mediocrity in the coming years and that too will no longer be achievable. It's okay though, Tomlin will still be hailed as a great coach. He could lead a team to 1-16 and media would fawn all over his one win and how he got the team motivated and coached up to beat another 1 win team 6-3.

Rooney would then follow with another 3 year extension. "Hey, we are still winning games...er a game, and that's thanks to HC Mike Tomlin!"

Had to laugh at that as well. I realize teams can have down years, but to call the last 4 to 5 years success is pathetic. I'll even give the first few years of the last decade, but come on, after seeing how this team played this year (and last), fans getting over excited over one game, MR is our QB, we won a SB from the last playoff spot in 2005, enjoy the win, but come one.

FO needs to force him to hire quality coordinators. Maybe having some security means he’s not looking over his shoulder and hires competent people

What if the FO is picking the coordinators? Ever notice Tomlin has nothing when its comes to a coaching tree.
