Bingo, we have winner. The talent pool is thinned out. But, so is the 3-4 since there are so few base defensive schemes.

Im so glad the Rooneys don't consult the inhabitants of this MB when making decisions.

If they did, the Steelers would have the same success as the new Cleveland Browns.

we just need to get faster on defense. our team speed has slowed way down on that side of the ball. ike included. he used to be a burner. a couple of years ago ike would have caught that guy from denver. he used to run in the low 4.3 range. not so much anymore. gay is only a 4.5+ guy. troy has leg issues and is nowhere near as fast anymore. clark never was a burner, nor was mundy. farrior? woodley? worilds? not burners either. when we were winning SB's we had one of the fastest defenses in the league. these guys have gotten older, more beat up and slowed down a step or two. even bmac used to be faster. to many leg injuries.

Obviously, our defense has been solid for many years. And while the numbers this year were skewed by the teams and the QBs that we had to face, it wasn't a bad year for our D this year. That being said, something needs to be changed because QBs can read our defense too easily, especially in the 4th quarter after seeing it all game and us never making adjustments.

Read this article. It's from mid-November after we lost to the Rats. It will be a painful walk down memory lane rehashing all of these games, but it's simply amazing to see all the 4th quarter collapses we've had on D in the past 5 years (even in some of our wins) all condensed into this one article is obvious that it's quite the trend.
