Throwback: Major Applewhite

I was thinking about some QB's that probably should have at least been solid starters and Applewhite popped in my head. I had remembered him being replaced by Cris Simms in college. It was clear that he was the better player at Texas and the injuries hurt him, but why wasn't he drafted?


Did a Wiki search and he was actually signed by the Patriots, but never reported, instead going back to finish graduate work and getting into coaching.

Seems he has the Midas touch on offense as well. Look at what the offenses did when he was at Alabama, Rice and now University of Houston.
