With Mike Wallace all but gone Terrance Williams of Baylor could be a deep threat he's 6-1 and 190lbs and was RG III main target in college. He might be around in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I'm warming to the idea of taking one of the Tennessee WR's, Cordarelle Patterson. Not our main need, but if we insist on taking a WR early, I'd hope it's him. Big, fast enough, has some physicality, and crazy legs (he can make people miss pretty easily).

Not high on my priority list at all, but I'd be ok with it. I think the way we ran the offense last year a RB is higher priority than WR.

I live in Knoxville which is where he was suspended from. He's a moron really. He would rather smoke marijuana than play football or go by the rules. I've asked a few people around here about him and they all say they don't think he would be worth the risk. It's sad that people can have so much talent and squander it. I'd say given our recent draft history we need to stay away from the "questionable character" guys.

there is this late under the radar gem from georgia southern u. that could be an udfa. michael berry WR 6-3 206 runs between 4.35- 4.46. nice fast bigger target nobody has heard of. hope our scouts are digging deep for talent. as far as drafting, i still like cory fuller from va.tech as a sleeper about rd.6. they need to be able to block downfield too and help the run game. we miss that about hines. it made a huge difference.

The key for us drafting a WR is someone who is big, physical, and catches the ball with his hands more than anything else including speed. I want them to run solid routes, but the key is really that they fight for that ball and use their body to make it happen. Someone like Boldin. Someone like Demaryius Thomas. Thomas is 6'3 229. Mike Wallace might be the 6' tall he is listed at and 199. That 30 lbs changes the way you do things. Thomas still runs 4.4 or 4.5 40 times. The guy is still fast.

Agreed. It'd be nice to have this. Not knocking the guys we have now...but to add someone different to the mix could really help.

I agree with you but sometimes you gotta pull the trigger. I always remember that we passed on Dan Marino because he smoked some pot in college. Imagine....we would have like 10 rings. The 80s and 90s were awful for the Steelers at QB.

I like Cobi Hamilton in the 2nd or 3rd.. 6'2 210 out of Arkansas. He plays bigger than his size and was very productive in college. My late round sleeper is Aaron Mellette from Elon college. 6'4 220 and put up huge numbers. He competed very well against big time competition while being the only play-maker on the team. He had 11 receptions for 180 yards and a TD against Vandy, who was 12th in the country in pass defense that year.

fuller has moved up to the 5th now and may go higher before it's over. we still need a deep threat guy, he fits that bill, but so do some later round or udfa guys.

    nicholas edwards e.wash.

tyler shaw n.w. missouri st. ****** i really like this guy as a sleeper.

michael berry southern u. is a big target, with speed, buried deep in the receiver ranks.

tavoy moore c.wash. if ya get a chance , check this catbird out. before you say he's a rainey clone, look again.

don't forget we have moye under contract. he's 6-5.

trust me. darick is not going to make it in the nfl. he is lazy and thinks he is intitled. he does not like to compete for playing time. he thinks it should just be giving to him. cordarrell patterson is the same way. he showed up his coaches when he was not in the ballgame. there was a report and i confirmed it with a player that during the georgia game patterson was asked to come out after running a reverse. when they gave him a play to come in and run he refused. told coach that you wanted me out of the game see if you can score without me. he is an idiot

Completely agree. I don't see the need for a receiver in round 1 the way some people do. I like Brown and Sanders and Cotchery. I think we can definitely afford to get someone in a mid round and use him situationally and bring him along slowly.

But if we go early... I like this guy's highlights a lot. His movement is great for a guy his size. He's even a good kick returner. Perfect type for us. But still, I don't want one in round 1. In round 2, I'll take him.

I see one, and only one, WR worthy of a 1st round pick this year. Keenan Allen out of Cal. He may not be a burner, but he's everything else you want a receiver to be. He runs good routes. He has good hands. He is tough and physical. He gets consistent separation even though he was Cal's only weapon in the passing game and had the full attention of his opponents on every play. He shields defenders from the ball with his body. He reminds me a whole lot of former Panther WR Musin Muhammad. I see him as that same type of tough possession receiver who always gets open and moves the chains. He's also a weapon in the red zone because he's very quick making cuts for a 6'3" guy, and is a threat to get to any spot in the end zone and flash open quickly. I just heard that he has an injury and will not run at the combine. I feel bad for the kid, but that might be just enough to drop him a few spots to #17.

Other than Allen, I am not feeling this year's WR class.

I would go with cooper from Texas in the second. He is shooting up draft boards and will probably go even higher when he runs in the 4.2s at the combine but man talk about a clone of Wallace though I think he has a little more grit to him then Wallace.

Cooper? Are you referring to Marquise Goodwin? I wouldn't touch him before the 5th round, and maybe not at all. The only resemblance that he bears to Wallace is 40 time. Goodwin is 5'9", 183 and has never produced in his College career. His career highs in 4 years are 33 catches, 421 yards, 3 TDs and 13 yards/catch. I'm sure he's going to look great running around in Underarmor this weekend, but if he was really a good WR prospect there would have been some production at the college level.

Oops I don't know why I put cooper down but yes I'm talking about him. From what I've read Texas really misusedthis kid.

From what I saw in the 2 or 3 Texas games that I watched, I don't think they misused him that much. I think he was a bit more of a track guy than a football player, and did not yet have the skills to be used the way that you want to use a small, quick guy (see Tavon Austin & Ace Sanders). There is potential there because of his speed, but I think he will have growing pains in the NFL. I don't think we have the luxury of taking a WR who will have growing pains. Right now he looks to me like a guy who will only threaten on go routes. Just my opinion.
