The Top 10 Coaches of all time

    Neither one of them are anywhere close to being top 10 coaches :shrug:

    I think if you create an evaluation criteria it skews the results wildly. I think it is probably based on how the world thinks coaches handled what they had to work with. Which is why Noll should be higher. And Paul Brown should be lower.

    That is an evaluation criteria.

    My point is these polls and debates are meaningless if one guy is arguing from the POV of championships trump everything else and another is arguing from the POV that impact on the sport is the most important criteria.

    Gotta compare apples to apples.

    True! It's just hard to find a set of criteria that doesn't skew a discussion. If you go by SBs it's skewed, if you go by record it's skewed, if you go by division wins it's skewed, it's almost always going to be opinion.

    Yeah. And no one is basing their opinion on the same foundation. It then just becomes folks yelling ten names for wildly different reasons with no discussion of the reasons.

    My list would be long term impact/legacy on the game. For instance if you invented/popularized a schematic system or play-style that is still in the NFL decades after you are....then you go on the list -- SB wins or not.
