The main reason they can't reach their full potential is bad o-line play, they need to go after David DeCastro guard Stanford he played in a pro style offense and would be able to start from day one. Any defensive player they draft including Hightower won't start their rookie year Dick LeBeau defense is too complicated for rookies Timmons, Polamalu, Hood, and Heyward all first round draft picks who didn't start their rookie year. They have 10 picks and all these picks wouldn't make the team anyway. They should look into trading Mike Wallace on draft day, if that is possible since he hasn't signed his 1 year tender yet.

I respect your opinion, but I have exactly the opposite feel in this draft. I would prefer a move much like it took Dallas to get Dez Bryant. The Cowboys got a 1st and a 4th for their 1st and a 3rd, but they only moved down 3 spots.

Now part of the reason I think that particular type trade might be an option for us is that moving down 3 spots probably isn't going to hurt who we draft, but we also would probably be able to upgrade better at the #3. Having a draft that gets you the same guy 3 spots later and upgrades your #4 pick to a #3 pick can be huge.

I agree Steelers need a day one starter on the offensive line, particularly left guard.

Maybe they need to trade up, but overall I think this is a average to weak draft class aside from the QB's. So either Steelers should think this is a weak class we should trade up to get someone actually good, or that this is a weak draft class and all the value is in rounds 2 and 3 so let's tade down for extra picks in those rounds.

David DeCastro would be a smart pick.

I don't see anyone in this draft that we need that bad to trade up. We need oline help but it's great value in the 2nd and 3rd round or stay where we're at.
We need a NT and it's value in later rounds and we need help at ILB and it's value at 24th and later rounds. I see no need to trade up. If anything I would trade down and get an additional 2nd round pick or 3rd round.

2nd and 3rd round only if they cans step in and start day one at LG day one.

To start Essex or LEgursk there would be a joke and total neglect by the front office to protect Ben.

Steelers need to pull the trigger on this guy if at all feasable.
Faneca type, 10 yr starter from get go, will go to multiple pro bowls. Yes he is that good.
And from what I have read, he is supremely dedicated to his profession.

Is he still an Alen Faneca type if moved over to left guard? He's never played left guard. It is a big difference from right guard.

Barring injury,he will go to multiple pro bowls in in his football career. He will
start from day one right beside Pouncey. Ben will be all ****s and giggles
having a talent like that protecting him. The run/ pass ratio will improve
because he will blow people off the line of scrimmage and be able to get to the next tier.
He has Ray Lewis in is sights ready to destroy him. And you you have your 102 million dollar
QB laughing because he can't beleive he has time to throw the ball. Does this answer your question?

DeCastro is going to go top 12, so trading up for him is out of the question. After that there's not many guys I would want to trade up for... The only ones I see is if Kuechley, Barron, or Reiff fall.

I'm with what some of the others have said though, I'd prefer to trade down either out of the first or early in the second.

I would love to pull a Pats move too if we could, and get a 2nd or 3rd this year plus a 1st next year for our pick.

I agree, with maybe the exception of barron. I really like him but I'd only trade up a couple picks for him. any more than two spots will be too expensive for him. There is a slight chance he'll be there At # 24.

I would rather see a trade up to the top of the second...than up in the first.
