If you can get a fifth rounder, I'd make the trade.

Sign a vet on the cheap to be the No. 3 QB.

I wonder what constitutes “blown away”?

    A third rounder?

That would be a really stupid move.

Rudolph will be a free agent at the end of the year so he can try and sign as the #2 QB for another team. It beats holding a clipboard and being the #3 QB here.

Yeah. I legit feel bad for the guy. Let him go somewhere where he has a chance. I think in a situation like this you have to take into consideration what is best for the player.

Trubinsky runs around. Chances are he's get hit and injured. Then you need a capable back up. Also Trubinsky may not agree to be a back up to Pickett. Pickett starting is eventually going to happen. Only question is when.

$3,000,000 a year to hold a clip board. Where do I sign up?

Why? At some point you're going to have to part ways with Rudolph. You may as well try to get something for him now.

Its a moot point anyway as it sounds like the FO wants to keep all three QB's.

A fifth round pick could amount to a pair of cleats and nothing more. Roll with Rudolph as a back up for now since we are so thin at QB.

Thin? Did we lose Turbisky or Pickett?

Most teams don’t even carry 3 QB’s. It’s a waste to hold onto Rudolph. In the event they do get to him, how will they ever replace a guy that couldn’t beat a winless Detroit team when they needed him to.

I bet you Mason would take half that if it meant he had a chance to play.

A very good point was made in that his contract expires and he will walk, and the Steelers would have nothing.
So "Blown Away" is subjective at best.

I would expect the Steelers to say just what they said, they don't want 7th round offers.
As said, a 3rd round offer would be great, that's a good pick.
I might even go as low as a 5th.

I would take a 5th. Anything lower than that you have to keep him IMO.

Im still convinced that if Pickett ends up starting, then Trubisky is on the way out.

I call that just trying to drive the price up. I don’t see them getting a 3rd. 4th would be the highest.

I feel bad for the janitor that walks around cleaning up **** but if he was paid well into the 6 or 7 digits my sympathy would wane.

I'm calling it now. I fully expect Josh Dobbs to be picked up by midweek. The Browns will cut him and he will become QB 2.

I think you're probably right on the money.
A 5th is a good deal, if they can get it.
