    Not good at all.

Thought Buddy Johnson handled himself pretty well though at the Hall of Fame game. Definitely had some yips for sure. Here is hoping he can pull through them.

Killebrew? New coach? I didn't think Spillane played bad. I've never been a big fan of pleasing as a coach.

God. Harris made Bush look like a JAG right there. Hopefully its just that Harris is that good but I expected Bush to be more challenging and quick. Maybe Im over reacting. :icon e smile:

one of them is coming off an acl tear. the weeks leading up to the season will still be needed for bush's rehab and hopefully it get's better day by day. let's face it bush was having trouble in coverage before this too. now add a bad wheel and did you really think it was going to be better?

Maybe it's because of the knee injury, what's concerning is Harris isn't fast, but he ran by Bush.

    This.

I have already been on record with this as well. It will take some time for Devin Bush to fully heal. Yes, he does still possess that elite level of speed, explosiveness and agility but can only use all three in short points or areas within the field. Much of this is the healing process; lack of Football Conditioning the other

Going to be a while yet before he can get back to his 2020 form where he was ascending.

Lets not forget the mental part, worrying about the injury, a major one at that.

If he wasn't fully healed, he wouldn't be out there. I think you mean "rehabbed". He needs to recover the muscle mass he lost.

Yes, ILB is a weak spot on the team. Bush is good, Spillane average, everyone else unproven/not ready.

I'm guessing they sign Avery Williamson soon.

    There's 40 speed, and there's Football speed.
I seen Zeke E. (4.47) run away from Ryan S.(4.38) in the game twice. So...

    Yep.

More than just physical. Athletes like Simone Biles and Naomi Osaka have greatly played a part in the re evaluation of the mental strain that Sports can do to ones overall well being. I seriously doubt Devin Bush Jr has simply pushed something like an ACL Tear into the back of his mind that easily.

    It is.

The body definitely can function based off of instincts for certain. However, to hone those instincts, one has to forego a trial of tribulation within the understanding of that particular area of expertise. For sports, being able maintain that level of consistency first stems from the desire, work ethic and commitment to; habit also. If a player is not willing to push their mental limits to new heights to become better, no matter how athletic they are, only modest gains will showcase themselves in real world performance.

The reason why players like the one in my avatar could transcend era had just as much to do with their mental fortitude as it did with their athletic gifts. Once are both in harmony and synchronization, any action that is normally deemed impossible becomes possible; again the man in my avatar being a living embodiment of it. If anything, this is all the more reason I believe Minkah Fitzpatrick is next in line to become one of the greatest of his era.

Minkah's athletic abilities pale in comparison to Troy's but their mental aptitude and fortitude are near carbon copies of one another.

Having had a torn acl myself in my youth, the mental aspect plays a part. You don't trust that knee for quite awhile. Took me maybe 3 years to get back to 85% but Bush can devote more effort & therapy to rehab. I give him to at least mid-season.

If our defensive plan includes an ILB covering someone 30 yards downfield then it’s going to be a long season

Then it's going to be a long season...Insert Vince Williams guarding Keenan Allen over and over and over and over and over and over.....

and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over......

    Again

ILB's must be able to cover Rb's and Te's in pass coverage. Looks like alot
of work needs done by all.
