Apparently not, must have just been me. Terribly busy at work, 1st of the month, last quarter and most companies needing electronic components are worried about supply chain issues and buying up whatever stock we have. So I maybe just tired and misreading the room.

I only glanced at the article (so I don't know how convincing it is), but SteelersDepot wrote up an overview of Taco's game snaps.

I watched it in slow mo.. schobert tackled Landry holding his non football arm which left his other arm alone with the ball thus allowing taquito to punch it free

It looks more like Schoebert punching it free to me. Perhaps Charlton bumping into them at the same time helped. Part of why I think that way is this quote from Schobert: “Jarvis is a great competitor and a fierce athlete,” Schobert said. “He’s obviously protective of the ball as all ball carriers are in the NFL. I do remember a few times in training camps where I was back there, where he would catch the ball on little spot routes, juke me, and then I came from behind and punched the ball out a few times. So, maybe it’s just something I have on him, but in games I can’t remember him fumbling in any games. So, it’s a pretty rare thing to get done.”

Schoebert sure seems to be taking credit for stripping the ball out. Was he mistaken? Was he lying?

Honestly, I'm not sure why this matters. Even if it was all Charlton, it was one play and it doesn't provide much reason for optimism in the face of four seasons of being such a crappy player that three organizations gave up on him despite him being a first-round pick. I certainly hope the light suddenly went on and he can be a useful backup, but one doesn't show anything either way.

as this shows, that's two plays he made during his 10 plays on the field. i didn't see anyone run into and over him like ingram did either during that small sample. i hope the light does go on for him. i never thought he was that good watching him at michigan either, just like bush that they used 3 picks on. let's hope he realizes this might be his last shot to make it, we need the depth.

Sherbert and taco both assisted with the fumble after watching it many times. Tacos punch is what knocked it, sherbets left hand is around landrys waist completing the tackle.

taco looks odd as a defender, very lanky and runs goofy lol. As long as he contributes im all for it

Taco didn’t punch anything out, look where his hand is, it was up by his chest the whole time. At most, he gave him a little jolt running into him that popped the ball out but I think that thing was already on it’s way out.

Who cares, Taco was in on the play, thats where you want him to be. Can’t make plays when you aren’t around the ball carrier.

I think Blast was saying that it doesn't really matter if he actually knocked the ball out or not (he didn't.) The important thing is that he was getting in on the play.

Whether or not Taco caused the fumble should be the least of our concerns as fans at this point in time. What should be discussed is his overall performance in his limited playing time. Overall, he performed much better than expected given his previous history of being a 3-4 OLB for the Miami Dolphins. While he had a career year in sacks for the 'Phins... just could not pan out. Then again.... not too many players or picks of Miami's have panned out within the past five to seven years...... save for those who have been traded and/or released.

I am looking forward towards seeing how Charlton continues to improve upon his game. Against the likes of the Chicago Bears, while Justin Fields is no doubt an explosive playmaker on his feet, his Offensive Line leaves much to be desired. Hopefully Taco can take advantage of that given how well he played against the likes of both Jack Conklin and Jedrick Willis Jr.
