Losing doesn't guarantee you a franchise QB or that you'll be a true super bowl contender later, but it gives you a much better chance.This is the point

 

5 of the 8 playoffs win by Tomlin he had Arians as OC and he had Arians for only 5 years

Everyone on here knows my feelings on Tomlin, but even I think Tomlin is probably a better coach than McCarthy.

I don't think this will end well for us fans. I couldn't imagine a more disappointing hire. God I hope they realize the error of their ways after 5 years. I know it won't be sooner than that, but surely he won't be here for 10-20 years right?

 

Arians was maybe arrogant and stubborn but he was also a winner.He even make the playoffs as the Browns OC in 2002

The OC and DC will make the deal

 

You can squint and see the Steekers reasoning with the hire. If the most important thing is identify and develop a QB, Shula really isn't relevant.

Puts you from choosing between a guy with a track record and 2 or 3 guys with only a bit of experience and a belief they can do it.

Like I still think it's a bad decision but I can at least see how they got there. Took a day but MAYBE this isn't completely moronic.
