The Eagles are an NFL team that has the talent to win. They competed hard and had opportunities. I never understand this idea of playing down to anyone. Every team has injuries and talent. Debating about who has more talent is an exercise in futility.

The Steelers are always going to have "problems" so good luck expecting perfection every week.

    The Good

Ben looked very good and really won us this game single handed. Claypool certainly was great but Ben puts the ball where he can succeed.

    The Bad

this defense has taken a major step back from last year. If they can figure it out we could be legit.

    The Ugly

Gotta give Coach T credit. These are games we normally lose and we are pulling them out. Have to give him credit!

Congratulations on Eagles loss. Your life will be much easier in the near future. I'm indifferent about Notre Dame...just hope Va Tech Hokies whip them in ACC if they have to play.

Montana, Theisman, Bus....lots of Super Bowl champs from ND.

Tuitt, meanwhile, looked like Ernie Holmes out there today (and I hope and trust other that remember Ernie concur).

Meanwhile, if one takes out the Sanders 74 yard TD run- and that is a lot to take out, I agree-

Opponents have rushed for 182 yards on 76 attempts this year, for a 2.4 average carry.

Actually no, rarely do I look down on a win (and not looking down on this one). Just an observation that has seemed consistent over the years, and has been a problem over those same years. The Steelers wins have come over teams with a combined record of something like 3-13-1 and believe it or not the being 4-0 against these tams is a real positive for Tomlin who in his career has not fared well against teams with losing records. I also recognize the off week is going to affect a team that was just starting to gel. But honest critique is just that...when you are up 31-14, moving at will and allow a subpar team to get within 2..all the while playing very sloppy football in all phases of the game it means you still have work to do.

Sure I do. I point out how little you know about football, and competition in general. Any more questions I can answer for you? I love helping out the uninformed and needy.

But we're 4-0 so it doesn't matter. It's all puppy dogs and rainbows. I think if we win one more, we become the default winner of the SB. Not 100% certain about that, but if you can get @steelersrule6@steelersrule6's attention, I'm sure he knows. Good luck getting his attention, though. He's in the bathroom with an old sock, looking at our record.

It would be the same? See, what casual fans like yourself don't understand is that the game is played on the field, not in the win/loss column.

It makes no difference what our record is. Our secondary is abysmal. Our front 7 apparently takes games off. Our OC and DC are far too predictable at times. Ben looks good. DCastro looks like he's going to be an unstable part of the OL this season. And Claypool is better than advertised.

See? None of that changes if we're 4-0 or 0-4. So the next time you make some stupid assumption about me, you should reconsider sharing it. But if you choose to, I'll be happy to put you in your place. :drinks:

I get invited to lots of parties, thank you very much. The dates of the parties are always wrong, for some reason. Weird.

Why is Claypool's head on Brady's body?

Can't win the Bowl in October but you can lose it. They are finding ways. Good stuff. Gotta get that D cleaned up though.

The game that's played on the field is what results in the win loss column lol.. If win loss column doesn't matter then what's the point of playing on the field.. Put the yuengling down man your cut off for the night

Haven't had a drop. You aren't in control of wins and losses. You can play your best game and still lose. That's the nature of competition. It's not about winning every game. It's about preparation and execution. Wins and losses over a season will fall into place. I guarantee you that a team's record is NEVER in the gameplan.

Interesting, Tomlins record against teams with losing records. 2012-2014 3-4 each season, 2015 2-4, to lazy to look up other years..but between 2012 and 2018 the Steelers were 41-17 against teams with winning records, 20-18 against teams that were had sub .500 records. now this year they are 4-0...great. Those past years however could have been missed p/o years, and the difference between home field and bye weeks in the p/o's. IDK, I know any given Sunday, but in the last 7 years Tomlin coached teams have played subpar football against teams with losing records.

    BOO!!!!:nono:

4-0, and your 2nd round draft pick went off for 4 TDs(could have been 5). Enjoy this one for a day.

That's from the Bucs game against the Bears when Brady forgot what down it was, he held up 4 fingers to the ref, so somebody put Claypool in the pic because he had 4 TDs.
