If you don't mind the circus that comes with him why not.
    .. I'd still pass

    He’ll barely play :lolol:

He can’t pass block for ****. So he won’t get 3rd down work and if he gets early down work they will telegraph the run.

His rookie season will be much like Warrens.

I think that by this point, teams may see Sanders as a fourth or fifth rounder who comes in and expects first round money and the starting job on day one. And if he does not get that his father and family will scream bloody murder. He has more potential to be a pain in the ass than to be the qb who leads a team to the promised land.
Kaleb Johnson should be a part of the running back rotation day one, and could be an improved version of Najee.

He wasn't. He caught 29 passes in college, but gets solid marks for his hands when he does get thrown to.

In a way that reminds me of Najee. I remember a draft interview where somebody asked him about what he'd done to improve his receiving game and he gave them one of his looks and said nothing, they just started throwing him the ball.

It's funny how the analysts are backtracking on Sanders. 'Yeah, his arm kinda sucks. Yeah, he's too small. Yeah, he probably runs a 4.9 forty. Yeah, he takes way too many sacks. But, he's pretty accurate.' How many teams are looking to spend premium draft capital for a QB like that?

In 2017 James Conner did not get a lot of playing time and many posters who do not know the game wondered why

It was solely because of his lack of pass blocking skill

Once he learned he played more

He's a 4th round talent that will get 4th round money. If he gets drafted by the steelers at 123, he is easily better than the 2 jabroneys on the roster. If he wins the starting job and plays well next season and, God forbid, breaks the current postseason drought, then that's a good thing for the steelers and us as fans. If he rides the pine and his family circus becomes too distracting, then he'll be cut or traded. They have shown lately, they'll cut bait if need be.

Or.... maybe his football IQ is not what they were all saying pre draft? Maybe all the talk about how well he reads the defense was not accurate? Lots of QBs come to the NFL thinking they are better than they really are, that's nothing new. You still draft on traits. If the traits just aren't there you fall in the draft.

Putting any value on what the 'draftniks' are saying here is wasted time.

If he is taken in the 4th is it possible the circus might have diminished a bit

I will say one thing about the Sanders camp. This has been a master class in how to market and promote a mid level player to be 1st rounder. They sure fooled all the talking heads but at least the GMs/scouts out there haven't taken the bait. Smoke & mirrors by neon Deion and co.

Edit: and, to any of the so-called experts on TV who had SS as the best QB or the 20th best overall player in the draft or some other such horseshyte, your credibility is crap.

Been hearing he doesn’t articulate the game well, was even talked about in an article steelersrule6 just linked. He can’t discuss it in meetings, doesnt have the vocabulary.

Same problem as Paxton Lynch. Only Lynch had the physical traits.

Heck, just wait it out and bring in Seth Henigan as an UDFA. None of it makes any sense this year.

Jerry Jones will end up drafting Shedeur, and he'll stand there yuking it up like he's king of the world, thinking he just pulled the heist of a lifetime. How bout them Cowboys?! Yeeeehhaaaawww!

What I saw of him iin pass pro was pretty solid. The knock is that he was asked to do it very often - his pass pro snaps per game are toward the bottom of the class.

Your second statement is a matter of play-calling, but you're essentially saying they drafted a RB with their second pick in the draft but aren't going to play him because teams might think he's going to run the ball. Putting aside the fact that Iowa had one of the highest percentages of stacked boxes in the FBS last year, why put that kind of draft capital in a guy you don't intend to play?

If they just wanted a complimentary back to their starter they might just as well have taken another UDFA, like they did with Warren,

Burke has a second round grade on him he would be an outstanding pick in the 4th.

So would Royals. I thought a couple of those WRs would have been gone by now.

The old man's team had to ruin it for me and took Savion Williams last night. Was curious to see what Smith would do with him.

I admit that at this point it is schadenfreude, but it's kind of fun to see how long it will take for Sanders to be drafted. I thought for sure Cleveland was going to take him with one of their 38 picks in the first three rounds.

Mbow from Purdue would be a good addition to the offensive line. He can play tackle or guard.

The former may be true, but we must see that at the pro level. I'm not sure where you are getting the latter part of that. One of the question marks about Johnson is how little he was used as a receiver in college. He caught 29 passes in his entire college career. Harris had at least that many in each of his four pro seasons. People forget Harris caught 74 passes as a rookie. Much of his decrease in that area came because Warren took the thrid-down role.

This makes no sense at all. They are different players, though the failure of that pick might be part of why the Steelers passed twice.
