Watson is on IR. That leaves four QB’s. Good chance three make the team. That would leave one to be cut.

 

I think Gabriel will be on the practice squad. His weak arm isn't close to being NFL level.

Watson is not going to IR this upcoming season.

I really urge you to read the articles instead of the click bait that went out in January. It says in there he could miss time but nothing he of even likely of going to IR. Therefore he would be projected to come back later in the season. Therefore they'll be having this conversation of Watson and what other 3 people they carried thru the season.

So yes, they'll still be needing to cut the decision to cut 2.

 

So they wasted a third on him for another team to pick him up with nothing?

 

It isn't that weak. I doubt he could ever be a starter, but he could be one of those guys who bounces around as a backup for a long time.

The important thing is 2 two less teams need a QB for the stronger class in 26.

I mean, they used 3rd and 5th round picks this year on QBs. I don’t even think they are that mismanaged to turn around and use a 1st.

if it was only a 5th I’d agree with you.

 

They wanted someone who could mimic LJ in practices for the defense, i.e scrambling, tackling dummy QB. Or they will make him the starting QB in order to ensure they get the #1 overall pick in the next draft.
Honestly, with their draft haul this year and next, if they screw it up then they need to blow up the entire org.

 

This is still possible if every of their QB are terrible

 

But it would not be the first time....They had mutiples first round pick in a draft several times in the 2010s and they were still 1-31 for 2 seasons at one point

No other team would have done anything this stupid but we are talking about the Browns.

 

I called it early on and said that Tomlin loves Shedeur Sanders was nothing but a smokescreen, they weren't going to pass on DL to draft a QB.
