The New Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers as currently constructed is that actress that used to be sexy back in the day, and in her prime, she was arguably the best looking and the most talented actress in her era. But now, she is older, her talent has fallen off, and she is trying to compete with the younger actresses by taking Botox, and lip injections, and now she looks straight up ugly. The Pittsburgh Steelers is exactly that. The team used to be that sexy actress, but now has fallen off.

The sad truth is the new Steelers culture is "give me the money." With a history of never firing the head coach, Tomlin has gained a sense of job security and lost whatever fire he had to win championships. He has been allowed to put a mediocre product on the field year after year with no pressure from ownership to do anything differently. Tomlin has not been pushed and he has not pushed his team to excel and the entire climate of the organization has become "let's have fun with no pressure and get paid millions doing it." The only expectation has been to be somewhat competitive and provide entertainment. Tomlin has stated, "We're in the entertainment industry." Obviously, that type of climate does not produce champions or even contenders.

 

That is a good analogy, very apt. I have another analogy for the 'New Steelers'. Buttercream soft. The team culture is soft and weak.




We fans can get our addictive Black and Gold sugar fix, but this team is nothing more than empty calories cheaply made in Rooney's Easy Bake Oven.

After the game, there is nothing but regret for ruining your football diet with this junk.
