Depends on how you look at it.

Right now, Boz is #52 on the most points scored all time at 1155. The list is almost all kickers. The only non kicker above Boz on this list is Jerry Rice and Boswell might pass him up this year.

    Still active on the list:

#51 Jason Meyers 1157 with the Seahawks
#48 Brandon McManus 1193 with the Packers
#34 Graham Gano 1420 with the Giants (but on IR)
#18 Nick Folk 1748 with the Jets
#15 Matt Prater 1845 with the Bills (brought in to replace an injured kicker I think)

There are only 4 kickers in the NFL HOF. So getting in there is obviously a daunting task. Boswell does not have any NFL records. He has excellent stats, but not the highest in any category. He is a damned good kicker and one of the best in the NFL, but being honest I don't know that you can say he is the best because he does not have any NFL wide records. He is absolutely a top kicker in the NFL, but in every kicker category, there is someone else that out does him.

I am quite happy with him and can't point to any other kicker in the NFL that I would want to take in Boswell's place. He is a very good fit for the Steelers and so I guess you could say that he is the best for us.
