Signed 10 years ago today (3 Oct 2015).

For his career, Boswell has made 88 percent of his field goals, including a league-leading 41 kicks in 2024 en route to his first First-Team All-Pro selection. On top of making 88 percent of his kicks, Boswell has made a staggering 83 percent of field goals from 50+ yards, going 45-of-54, and 36-of-42 since 2021.

Here is the article I cut and pasted that from: https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.c...10-years-of-chris-boswell-pittsburgh-steelers

Happy 10 year NFL vet birthday!

Those are the same people that think we should trade Watt and Heyward.

Boswell was our fourth kicker that year after Suisham and Garrett Hartley were injured and we brought in Josh Scobee who was horrible after missing 4 FG's and an XP in two games. We then signed Boswell and he has been here ever since. The 83% from over 50 yards is just mind blowing. If he can keep this up for another 8-10 years he has a shot at Canton.

Boswell was not a killer B

They were Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell

Boswell is a HOF kicker IMO......as long as he doesn't suffer some career ending injury or start going to local massage parlors.......

He is currently the 10th highest paid kicker with a 5 mil per year average. Top is 6.4 mil per year (Butker with the Chiefs). I hope that his next contract moves him up on that list. He has earned it.

No offense but you said FG kicker is a dime a dozen when I was pointed out we'd have a worse overall record without BOZ as our man.

Wasn't me. Boswell only had one bad year. He's been great overall. Best kicker in Steelers history, IMO. And Steelers have had some good ones since the 70's.

He has 1155 points total so far which puts him at #52 on the list of points scored. There are 5 active kickers ahead of him on the list. The top end kickers seem to last from about 18 to 23 years before retiring. Figuring 20 years and his current points per year average, he would end with 2310 points which would be 4th overall as the list currently stands. We need a couple of deep playoff runs so that he can get some more points from the extra games.......lol

There is actually 1 non-kicker ahead of him on the list of points scored. Jerry Rice with 1256 points scored.

    devils advocate:

    he’s too good.

if we had a less reliable kicker we would probably go for it more on 4th down when fans complain we are being too conservative?

I did the read the history so my memories may be off. I do recall 2 years where his play was less that his normal play, yips, injurie, whatever. One of those times he actually took less money, came in and reestablished himself. From all the different players who have played her (both for the Steelers and against) with the difficulties, he certainly has been the most consistent. He still is that guy and won day some one will replace him, but for what he has done and continues to do this is not that time. If they paid him top dollar it would be worth it for the number of times he has kept this team in the points.

What superbowl were the Bills on when they finally got rid of there guy? That one miss and loss could likely be but on his foot, to move on is understandable, but at least give Boz that opportunity, lol.

I think that was Bills 1st SB. The next 3 a FG kicker wouldn't have helped, they kind of got an ass kicking. NFC was strong then.

If not us I hope the Bills finally get a SB win. The 50th SB pre-game show was funny when they had some good natured Bills fans pretend they won 4 straight SB's.

No that's not what I said. If you are going to quote me , do it correctly, and whomever agrees with you should go back , and read everything I said. Don't just pick pieces of what I said. Try reading ot all.
You sound like some political news channel picking out pieces of interviews to fit their agenda.

Scotty Norwood was the guy I was thinking of, they lost their first SB and he had a missed kick that could have won it, played in their 2nd but correct is saying they were far out played by Washington. So they did not dump him right away, but that had to be a lonely feeling, lol.

    Sort of maybe

Ge certainly has a B in his name but I believe he came in 2014 and the Killer Bs moniker was started in 2013
