I don't do right now. It's a regular season award, and the regular season is not over. Just like I won't pick TJ as DPOY yet. One more game left, and a lot of things can happen.

I have a problem with this notion because there's zero guarantee that Caleb Williams is going to be any better than Justin Fields. I'd argue that the data suggests that Caleb Williams will be a bust. How many QBs are teams like the Bears, Commanders, Jets and Browns going to destroy? These teams that habitually draft QBs only proves to me that it's better to build the team first and QB later. Caleb Williams has a great chance of being a bust in Chicago and that's simply because Chicago can't develop QBs and Chicago is just a terrible fit.

There are VERY few guarantees for top overall prospects anyways. How many "can't miss" guys have flamed out of the league in short order? Tons. The reason teams end up continuing to select QB's is because it is the only sure fire way to drastically improve your team. Getting a high end QB fixes all ailments, so they continue to draft high end prospects until they get it right. Look at Houston. They were essentially the worst team in the league last year and they just won their division... simply because they drafted CJ Stroud and got it right. Now, they did a few other things that helped, but the driving force behind their turnaround is because CJ Stroud is pretty instantly a stud.

Looking at the previous 20 SB winners, only 3 have had a non-elite QB (Flacco, Eli Manning x2, and Foles) and Flacco and Manning were still good QB's in the league (Manning 4 PB's and Flacco being a borderline top 10 QB most years he played). Foles was really the only anomaly. This means that it is essentially MANDATORY to have a really good/great QB to win it all in the NFL... so if the end goal is the SB and you don't have a really good/great QB, then you need to try to get one. Simple as that.

I would adds Peyton Manning in 2015 but overall you are right!...Flacco was also elite in the 2012 playoffs and 2011 was the best season of the career of Eli Manning, start to finish

Yeah absolutely. If you look at the playoff performances of Eli, Flacco, and Foles they all played at an elite level for that stretch of games. Hence why a "non-elite" QB won those championships.

QB is the most important position in the league and if you don't have a guy that is either "elite" or can be "elite" for good sized stretches of the season (or the 4 most important games of the year vs. some of the best teams in the league) you really have to feel that you have essentially 0 shot at winning it all.

    Caleb Williams just recently declared.

If I am Chicago, I would turn in that card faster than a silver bullet and not look back. That said, getting him some protection will also be key.

I would go with Jayden Daniels #1 (Caleb Williams is 6-1, I would not draft 6-1 QB at #1 overall.)
