Texans Fire Gary Kubiak

    The Texans announce that they've fired Gary Kubiak. Wade Phillips will be their interim head coach. The owner said Lovie Smith was a potential candidate.

    Not a big fan of these types of firings. I think they should wait until the end of the season. Nothing can be gained from firing him now, especially if Wade Phillips is just keeping the seat warm for the next guy. Dick move

    I always liked Kubiak. Finally puts it all together last year, lots of injuries and sub-par play from THE PLAYERS, mini stroke a few weeks ago and now this. hey Texan's FO, ya couldn't wait a few weeks? Especially installing Wade Phillips as the interim guy? Was Norv Turner not available? Good for Lovie though.

    I definitely don't think Wade Phillips will get the job. I read a headline that said Stanford's coach might be a top contender. What about Todd Haley??? Could we be so lucky???

    I just read that one of the coaches on the Texans radar is Mike Shanahan. Out of the last 12 seasons, he has only had 5 winning seasons. I'm not sure why he would even be considered.

    Not true, gives them a head start and first pickings, no playoff rules that they have to wait for to interview candidates.
