I saw something on twitter about him wanting to wear the black and gold LB from TCU. I would take a chance on him like the 5th rd or later in the draft.

Carder is a late 3rd, early 4th round prospect. We'd pretty much have to take him in the third, unless a lot of ILBs are still on the board. Walter has him at 5th for ILB, although he does have the ability to play OLB in a 4-3. Think it depends a lot on what happens with us in the 1st round. We don't go Hightower, and he becomes a serious contender for that third round pick.
    from Walter:
"Carder had a phenomenal Combine and pro day where he showed off more speed than many gave Carder credit for. With those two performances, he illustrated his speed to cover a lot of ground in the NFL. ...
Carder combines good speed and instincts. He could continue to add some bulk and play on the inside of a 3-4 defense. Carder has the quickness to play outside linebacker in a 4-3 defense and would fit as a 4-3 middle linebacker if he continues to add weight."

He's been doing an online diary about the whole draft process. Seems like a really good dude with a good head on his shoulders.

I'd be happy with him in the 3rd or 4th if we miss out on Hightower.
