The proper response would be to admit you were wrong in stating that I hadn't interviewed people directly and only "read some internet stories."

The team and Watt are sweeping the story under the rug. Both are refusing to answer fair questions about what happened. If there was an innocent reason for the switch to the tinted visor Thursday, they would have already given it. Their evasive responses make it clear that there is something to the story, but they are going to stonewall until the media moves on to something else. The league and NFLPA are going to let it slide just like they do every time a team pulls this crap. We saw it with Tagovailoa last season and it had happened many times before. Among the things I understand about concussions that you don't is that the league has gone a long way and it has used some shady tactics to try to make stories about the dangers of concussions go away.

Who have you interviewed relative to Thursday nights game? I can answer that. It's no one.

And see I knew you couldn't answer the question cause you already have your mind made up. Not a good trait for a Journalist. Probably explains the "Former" part of your user name?
I'd hate to see someone like you on a Jury.

I did answer the question. You just don't like that I rejected your premise, which is exactly what it deserved. How exactly are we going to find out there is nothing to the story? Watt won't answer questions about the visor change. Tomlin is claiming ignorance. The team refuses to respond. The NFLPA has proven time and again that it has no stomach for the situation. There is plenty of evidence that Watt was out there when he shouldn't have been. He took a knee to the head that left him shaky. Despite not suffering an eye injury, he switched to a tinted visor, which is a symptom of a concussion. They canceled post-game interviews with him due to migraines, yet he wasn't put in the concussion protocol until the next day. Both he and the team are avoiding fair questions.

I never claimed that I had interviewed anybody about Thursday night's game. I said I extensively researched the topic of concussions in general and the dangers of concussions for football players in particular, including live interviews. Please don't move the goalposts like that just because you are losing the argument.

I gotta say I agree with Glenn on this. Aren’t some of these visors prescription? Isn’t it possible that Watt’s clear visor was cracked or otherwise damaged and the only backup was tinted?

I’m not saying that’s the case as I have no idea, but isn’t it a possibility? I just don’t see changing visors as a clear indication of anything, concussion or otherwise.

And control freak or not I don’t believe any head coach knows of every tweak the equipment guys make to every players kit. Guys change cleats, shoes, chin straps, and even entire face masks mid-game. The head coach isn’t tracking that stuff.

Also in my opinion, when the owners pushed for a 17th game without increasing the roster sizes they threw away even the pretense of caring about player safety.

All the passive, aggressive comments aside. Scribe. I’ve always felt you’re pretty knowledgeable, rational guy. I just am finding it very odd that you seem to be so one-sided on this. You have your take on it and your opinion on it and I have mine. I’m OK with not seeing eye to eye on it.
Maybe they will get to the bottom of it if anything was wrong? Maybe they won’t.

If there was any explanation other than protecting him from light sensitivity, a concussion symptom, the team would have made that clear by now. So no, that logic doesn't hold up.

I'm not saying Tomlin should have noticed the visor change. I'm saying there is no way he didn't ask what was going on with his best player. There is also no way he didn't know what was going on by Monday, which is when he claims he found out about the visor. No. ****ing. Way.

The owners still pay lip service to player safety, but I made the point that they don't actually give a damn a while ago.

Your opinion doesn't fit the available information. Mine does. They won't get to the bottom of it because the NFLPA is a joke and nobody else wants to know.

Silly me. I don't back down when I'm certain that I'm right and every bit of available evidence backs me up.

Yes you did SG. But you can't reason with a rock, bent on rambling about meaningless BS. Glad you are taking the high road.

"Win at all costs!". An admirable trait when dealing with something of importance. On a social media message board? Comes across as pompous and needy.
You do you though, keep piling up them trophies. I think you're going to need a bigger case.

"Win at all costs" does not properly reflect my approach. It helps if you actually respond to what I wrote rather than making up your own version of it to argue against. If I wanted to win at all costs, I'd lie and move the goalposts like many others do. I simply stand by my statements, especially when I know my argument is founded in facts and reality and the opinions of those who disagree with me are not.

So maybe he is still having some issues with light sensitivity. That's not good if that is the case.

You’re assuming he had those issues to begin with.

I'm following the evidence while others willfully ignore it.

It's also possible he didn't have a concussion but he suffers from migraines. Sure, he has never had that come up before that Thursday night, but I guess it's possible. Even if it was a migraine causing his symptoms, they were still symptoms consistent with a concussion, which should have ended his night.

I’m a bit hazy on details (hey, therapy is working!), but was there any report during the game regarding a reason for the visor switch?

I don't remember hearing one. They haven't really explained it since then, either. Watt bristled at being asked about it and said he wouldn't get into those details. The defensive responses from him and from the team are part of why I am so certain that they didn't follow the concussion protocol properly.
