The only reason they drafted Troy was because they lost out on safety Dexter Jackson, who signed with Arizona instead. I remember I wanted the Steelers to sign Jackson he was coming off his Super Bowl MVP with Tampa Bay. It's a good thing they didn't sign him he did nothing in Arizona and was injured most of the time.

That is a cool story. I don't even want to think about Troy playing in the defensive backfield with Ed Reed in Baltimore. I never knew that was even a remote possiblity but apparently it was. Another takeaway from the story; DON'T SIGN A SUPER BOWL MVP DEFENSIVE BACK...EVER (see Dexter Jackson and Larry Brown). Just glad he landed with the Steelers and it will be a sad day when Troy has to hang up the cleats.

That's a great story. I never knew we were that interested in Jackson.

    Thanks for sharing.
Facing him twice a year with the Cravens would definitley have altered some outcomes, esp playoffs! WOW!!!

I wish I hadn't read that. That was one of Colbert's best moves, and it turns out that he was saved from shooting himself in the ass.
