    Free agent CB Sterling Moore is scheduled to arrive in Pittsburgh tonight to visit with the team through tomorrow.

    He was reasonably productive last season (compared to his others). His lack of career interceptions (total of 3) doesn't exactly isolate him from the rest of the CB corps. Still, difficult to see him making too much of an impression here.

    Wasn't bad with the Bears when he was there either. Had 1 good season but never stuck on the team. Big concern there for why he couldn't stay with a team.

    I am glad at least one person on planet earth got it. And, why they are at it, if there is a copy of "Striptease" for 3 bucks or under, pick me up that DVD as well. :lolol:

    When you look at the performance per dollar ratio of our small signings like Blake, McCain and Moats vs. our more expensive signings like Mitchell, Cam Thomas and blunt smoking Blount, I wonder if they should just limit themselves to the bargain bin when looking at other teams' players.

    Note - I don't really mean that literally, but the point is that spending money does not necessarily equate to success in free agency.

    They played OK and if I recall pretty poorly vs the Ravens in the Playoffs. S Smith had a big reception with McCain in coverage and Blake a PI call. These guys aren't going to get you to the Bowl, which is in the cards if the D steps up.

    Yes. Which is funny, because in the draft, you only have an educated guess as to how the player is going to turn out. So the draft should be more of a crapshoot. With free agency, you're meant to know what you're getting. Yet so often it doesn't pan out for the big money signings.

    Excellent point.

    I'd have to go back and look but if they did they weren't the only ones to play poorly that game. Over the course of the season, they did a good job. You need players like them just as much as elite guys, they all fill a roll. My position with Gay, Blake and McCain were that they were a good base to build around, put a couple of upper level players around them and the secondary would be fine. I'm hoping that between Cortez, Shamarko, Mitchell and who every they end up drafting that they will find those last pieces to the puzzle. And now of course, replacing McCain too.
