Nobody is arguing that. Please stick to what people are actually saying rather than using straw man arguments like this.

Didn't we try this last year? Didn't work very well for us. Putting faith in a player who hasn't proven he can stay on the field seems foolish at best.

They weren't getting a first for Brown. They were getting a swap off first-round picks, so just moving up some in the round.

For the record in fine with pickens and meta..... buttttt you have not research Meta have you?

Watch when he doesn't get enough throws. Watch what he does when a QB sucks. Etc

If you think pickens was a 10/10 problem, meta is like a 100/10 problem.

Now I see why a lot of people are pissed the Steelers drafted Jack Sawyer in the 4th rd instead of a WR like Elic Ayomanor.

They should have gotten at least a second-round pick for him. They would have gotten a compensatory pick for him anyway, this is yet another failure by Khan.

And you really think its a big difference that Pickens is gone?
Some have said look at 3 games Pickens didn’t play last season how bad we looked without him. Look at the quality of the 3 teams we played, wouldn’t of mattered.
Browns- should’ve won, defense lost that
    KC- nope
    Baltimore- nope

Yup. Knowing they were trying to trade Pickens makes that luxury pick look even worse.

Losing their best receiver when they don't have another valid starter didn't matter. Are you even reading this nonsense you are posting?

That is a good point, another way the Steelers failed. Yet again, the Steelers caved to a malcontent and got pennies on the dollar in return. They keep doing this and the talent drain weakens them every time.

My day would be better if people could discuss this honestly, so by all means, move on.

If you’re best wr has 59 catches and 3 tds you are definitely in trouble. Metcalf and CA3 will be fine. Lets not be too down on Wilson. Maybe Woods has a good season.

Why are you putting a label on a player after 1 season????.... it isn't like he established a reputation after repeated seasons... it was his rookie yr... give the kid a chance to write his story

This shows a lack of understanding the context. Pickens was the only viable starter last season, making it very easy for defenses to double him. Fields couldn't get him the ball. Wilson couldn't do anything but throw balls up for grabs to him. Pickens was held back by the poor offense around him last season and he was still better than you make him out to be. It is interesting that you left out the best part of Pickens' statistics, his receiving yards, showing you are more interested in writing something misleading than making an honest argument.

wilson has played in all of one game, barely... woods is just another over the hill receiver we signed that won't do much of anything.. joins a long list of aging veteran receivers who come in and disappear. once again, we head into the season without a proven #2

OK, but the post stated all the glory of those traded and did not explore the underlying issues. AB and his agent met with Art, after which he stated it was best to part ways. They just did not fly off the handle and get rid of these guys, is there some fault within the org., possible and at times likely, but let's also not forget what the players antics were as well.

The more I hear about Pickens antics from people with actual access to the Steelers the more I understand this trade. Listening to DK this morning he said the Steelers would assign someone to babysit Pickens on the sideline to prevent him getting into arguments with fans. Apparently there were also real locker room problems with Pickens. Arguing with teammates when he got called out for halfassing a route or not blocking etc. you can basically look at this trade as Pickens plus a 2nd for metcalf, a 3rd, and a 5th. Thats not a huge win for the Steelers, but it’s a win nonetheless imo. Now Kahn has to come up with a number 2 wr before the start of the season.
