This is dumb if they have no one lined up to take his place and please dont say Roman Wilson.

The guys is a nut job but can at least make spectacular plays. Now our offense is garbage yet again.

This should be for a first round pick. The only reason to do this is the Cowboys overpaying. If it is less than a 2, that is more incompetence by Khan. Maybe it makes sense if they have a deal in place with a veteran like Amari Cooper or Keenan Allen. That, or pull the offer from Rodgers, tell Harmon to gave the shoulder surgery now, and make it a proper tanking.

We somehow managed to downgrade the WR room from last year lmao nothing done in preparation of the trade either. This would be fine had we drafted a WR early (or potentially even at all). Quite the head scratcher.

woof. Bad trade. Poor return (as it was always going to be). Really seems like we’re playing for next year. This probably also means that they don’t think Rodgers is going to sign. Damn. Not a good outlook for the passing game this year

Steelers don’t even look like they are trying to compete this year if this is our qb room and we are trading Pickens…

    Jesus Christ.
You know, this front office sucks. They sabotage themselves.
OK, so if our Coaching cannot get along with talented WR's and waste their talents, then they need to go.
    or
You're so stupid that you cannot understand the concept of adding and accumulating top talent to compete with the elite teams.

WTF is it, they cannot figure out which path to go?

Yeah, a draft pick next year is really going to help out this year, and it is a year which we are looking really good for the draft anyway.
So maybe they have a plan, they will trade for a WR in the coming months? I sort of doubt that as they fumbled the #2 WR last season.
Or maybe they sign Terrell Owens.

As a 'players coach' why is it that you cannot figure out how to make this guy fit? And why then did you even draft him?

I just got to blow a gasket with this bunch, it's 3 steps forward and 4 steps back.

This front office is becoming a joke, first they overpaid for Metcalf, now they trading GP for a 3rd and other draft swaps

Unless Pickens pushed himself out, there's no reason to do this for less than a second rounder and I'd still just keep Pickens and hope for a spectacular year.

Geez, can't we at least have 1 year with Metcalf and Pickens? Apparently not.

I don’t get any of this… Most talented young WR for a 3rd…

    1) Didn’t get back what we used to draft him + he’s proven he’s gifted. 2nd would’ve felt like underpayment tbh.

    2) Apparently been working on this since before draft. We couldn’t get fleeced before draft and at least use capital to get back into 2nd round?

    3) Knew we were set on getting rid of Pickens and didn’t draft a WR.

This is TERRIBLE from every angle.

Do we deserve this for not giving GMDot the role? :whistley:

I'm hearing that aforementioned 3rd rounder plus other picks and a pick swap somewhere along the line

I would say that this move is on the silly side for certain. The moves made by both Khan and Weidl since 2023 have been anything but.

So we stink this year and get our future QB next year. Is that really worse than going 9-8 and losing final 5 games, including a blowout playoff loss to your rival? Heck I’d trade Tomlin, TJ and DK while we’re at it.

Having a hard time making sense of this. Did something happen behind the scenes that made them pull the trigger now? Because otherwise why not trade during the draft, surely you’d get higher compensation then. Why would Dallas now offer a better package.

I think it’s safe to say George did not handle the Metcalf signing well at all that he did unfollow the Steelers. I know there was some speculation that he hadn’t been following them before that but doesn’t seem that way now.

I guess we have to wait and see what they got for him. If it’s just a 3rd they are fools.
