So I've been working all day and am just checking the game via phone. I haven't watched any of it. However looking at the stats, Buffalo QBs combined to go 30-33 for 395 yards. Unless we had all camp fodder in on defense after the first 10 minutes, that's just freakishly bad.

This is the defense that Tomlin built. Good or bad, it's on him. Seeing lots of bad right now though.

Yep. it seemed like sexy rexy is showcasing his QBs to see what he can get on the market for 1 or 2 or them. The top 3 showed up and showed out and our D didn't have much to say about it. not good...

So internet was being too slow for gamepass to work... so I just kept getting prolonged stuttered announcements that Buffalo had scored again.

From what I could see, it wasn't pretty last night,

Could it be this old truism is still relevant: "It's not about the Xs and Os, it's about the billys and joes"..

I got the opportunity to watch sporadically yesterday but I didn't come away with the feeling that they were trying to win the game at all, it seemed more like they wanted to get some looks at guys that are going to be cut and or PS, I mean the fourth game they played and this is just the first time Harris gets any work. I don't think it was meant to be anything more than a lets see who has grasped the basics we are teaching but that is just me.

I'm not sure the first team grasps the basics of what they're teaching. Hell, I'm not sure they're teaching, by the looks of the D in the first quarter.

I agree. The Bills were playing to win. The Steelers were playing for some other reason.

The performances were still awful, though. Considering these guys were often playing for a spot on the team, guys like Harris didn't seem awake. Will Allen also stuck out as being particularly bad.

Thats pretty much preseason in a nutshell. It will always mean more to fans than coaches, its an evaluation tool for them.
