And here I thought Schefter was pretty well connected to insiders....

I think the front office has sent a very clear message that this is not the same ol Steelers.

Rodgers, Metcalf, Ramsey, trading away a fan favourite in Minkah. These are bold and aggressive moves aimed at making the team better in the short term, and completely at odds with their historical approach to team building.

We will have to wait and see if it works as you say. They are depending on a lot of things coming together all at once and that’s not a bet most people would take, but I commend their approach at the same time.

Since 2018 the Steelers have drafted 45 players, not including 2025: Of those 45
    • 0 made first team all-pro
    • 0 made multiple pro bowls
    • 2 have made the pro bowl just once during that period (najee harris and diontae johnson... who are both not on the team anymore)
    • 2 first round picks remain on the team (one in danger of not getting his option picked up)
    • 16 have been primary starters for more than 1 season (34%)
    • 23 have been primary starters for at least 1 season in their career (51%)
6 of their 11 biggest cap hits are free agent/trade acquisitions and the FA signings are continuing to stack up.

This tells you that this isn't your father's Pittsburgh Steelers.

You don’t need to tell me. I have been a huge critic of the drafting and team building over the years.

Since the new front office took over I’m seeing a better process, albeit the results aren’t there yet.

That may be my biggest problem with this trade. Their line isn't good enough to make that personnel grouping work because it allows defenses to focus more heavily on the run.

Kahns first 2 drafts were awesome in my eyes, but TBD with the results.
Remember, 3 yrs is a good judge of a player. Everyone down on Broderick, hope he shines in his 3 year

I would rather have Ramsey, Slay, and Porter Jr. on the field rather than Beanie Bishop trying to cover TEs.

Yea, the 'hope' part on Jones is the only disappointment. 'Hope' shouldn't be a word associated with a first round pick, especially one traded up for. Fingers crossed anyway.

So you’re lumping Colbert’s last several drafts in with Kahn’s? That seems reasonable to you?

I know this is off topic. I heard something very interesting today on the radio that involves your Dawgs.
When yall played Texas, Ga was up 20-0 in 2 nd qtr, Ewers couldn’t do crap. In comes Arch, 3 n out followed by another 3 n out followed by Arch fumbling on his last possession before the half. Ga went up 23-0.
The gist of what this guy was saying, Ga defense was not as good as previous years, Arch couldn’t do nothing. If Arch could have scored 7 points on any of those possessions, he might’ve remained the starter.
In otherwards, that game there was the reason Texas stayed with Ewers.
Interesting. Yet everyone and their brother thinks Arch will be a #1 pick.

I personally think Khan has knocked it out of the park with his first two drafts!
    But it is still TBD

It’s asinine to me that anyone is picking him to go in the first round. He’s started 2 games. His numbers were good, but the sample size is atrocious. If he’s lights out this year then maybe he’s worth a first round pick, but certainly not based off what we’ve seen so far. At this point he’s living off a name more than anything else.

I basically couldn’t be happier with what he’s trying to do. He’s clearly putting an emphasis on building the trenches first. That’s a recipe for long term success. Whether or not his draft picks reach their potential is still up in the air. A lot of people seem to think the Steelers are going all in on a qb next year. Depending on how things play out this year I can see them going another way. We need a starting left guard next year. We might need another tackle next year. We might need a corner or a safety.

Don’t give up on Jones yet. Hopefully he puts it all together in his 3 season.

Im not giving up on jones. He was considered to be raw when he was drafted. Giving up on him now is beyond foolish, but that’s par for the course when it comes to this fanbase.

He showed some potential in 2 half of his first season

Once again don’t mean to beat a dead horse. This coaching staff has proven they can’t develop talent.
This is not a lie, but a fact

I haven't either, but I do agree with @strummerfan@strummerfan , and @Steelpens65@Steelpens65 , it's too early to write him off.

And we all know that stopping the run is a Big problem right now. Hopefully, LBs can step up
