This is bittersweet news. One part of me would love to see Harrison retire a Steeler...the other side of me shakes my head that Harrison wasn't happy with $4 million at his age with injuries recently, and I can't feel bad for him!

Either way I will never forget Super Bowl 43

i'm very torn about this development........ towards the last half of last season, Harrison seemed to be getting back on track, and was our best/only pass rush threat on the back end of the season....I know there's plenty of great talent at the position in this yrs. draft, but we all know they won't see the field much in their rookie yr., and i'm not quite sold on what's already on the roster...one only needs to refer to the first 4 wks. when Harrison was out...... granted, he clearly wasn't worth what he would've been due this season, but to rule out his return, even at a reduced priced seems to be kind of foolish...... i'm trying to hold out hope that the coaching staff has seen something out of one of the hopefuls that I missed... it wouldn't be the first time, but until then, i'm quite worried

Simon was a stud at Ohio State! He would definitely fit very nicely with our D.

I'm not a fan of Simon. If it was like the 4th round then I'd say sure pull the trigger... I think his pro day numbers showed more athleticism than I saw on the field. I'm not sure he has the ability to play in space as a LB.

Explosion isn't really something that can be taught.

if we did get him, what would you propose that the steelers do during his rookie yr. when we all know he will be on the bench

Talk about being a day late and a dollar short :lolol:

I have absolutely no hard feelings towards JH, the guy gave us everything he had on the field and he will always hold a special place in Steeler history for one of the best plays ever in a SB :steelflag:

James needs to fire his agent.

I was thinking the same thing because his agent may have been the one responsible for overstating JH's market. But then I thought, his agent probably couldn't care less if he's fied at this point because if James doesn't get paid, he doesn't get paid. At the moment, James ain't getting paid.

I think JH's agent cares a whole bunch but is not actually worried. I guarantee that he is not panicking. #92 could very well have a solid 2 seasons left in this league and he is trying to maximize his earnings for those last 2 seasons. His agent is merely looking after his product because it makes himself profitable. One thing I am certain of is that I will see James playing somehwere in the NFL next season. I still hope its with the Steelers but if not then I still wish him the best. Unless he goes to the Pats then I will probably be wondering why he's not getting fined or suspended every 3 games.

same thing we would do without him. start worilds and woodley. simon would need at least a year if not more to play that position full time. he needs work but has all the heart you would want in a player. i don't see any draft pick being picked to be the starter this year at OLB. carter is still next guy up.
