I thought for sure Foster was leaving as a free agent. I don't think the Steelers draft O-line in the first 3 rounds at least.

Obviously the money will be key to whether this is a good resigning. I like him as RG, and I think DeCastro clearly has the tools to make the switch to the left side. However, it would seem to me that this move - along with tendering Redman - would seem to indicate that we are not switching to a zone blocking scheme. I think that both Foster and Redman are square pegs in a ZBS. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see Foster having that lateral stretch ability. I do like him in a power scheme though.

strange move and fit. as bicknell stated, he likes lighter mobile tackles and bigger guards that can bend and are mobile. does he fit either?

how many RT's do we need? we need leftside players, i would think.

maybe DD says he'll hold out if he has to play on gilberts side.:lolol:

we will have a big slow side and a lighter mobile side of the line.

one things for sure, it should be an interesting camp and preseason this year.

No specific salary breakdown yet, but it's a 3 year deal for $6 Mil, including a $900,000 signing bonus.

That's kind of what I thought it might be. For Foster, that's starter money.

I wonder if he'll lose some weight.

This is NOT a dirtbag move. My Steelers aren't that way. First off its a move that rewards a solid performing player. Colon has a fat contract and has missed 3 years basically due to injuries.

Colon missing out? Nope. He'll be asked to cut his salary no doubt. He he balks at that he be cut ( he and his agent will know this very soon ) but designated as a June 1st cut. His agent can go ahead and find him a team and neg the deal but must wait to June 1st to make it official. Please don't referr to the Steelers as dirtbag operators.

I am not understanding these moves? Foote, Foster,Gay
I am truly concerned what the hell is going on? These guys are worthless.
Its even more imperative that Colbert and coach cliche hit a home run in the draft.

Worthless? Are you serious? HOFers ne but let's look at these three.

Foote= Not only did he have 120 tackles and 4 sacks but he was the defense's QB. He called the defense that was #1 last year.
Foster= Solid flexible OL. He has shown he can step in and play well at both OGs and RT position. I don't think he'll be a great starting LG but he is well worth what we signed him for.
Gay= He knows our defense already. He had more int's than both our starting CBs combined. The QBs he faced last year had a QB rating of 80 when facing him. A Starter? no but a great nickel and can be a good back-up if some-one goes down for a short time.

worthless? come-on man, you know better than that.

The money does not add up, maybe worthless is a little harsh but these guys
are not what you build winning franchises around. There just not what
you expect a 6 time superbowl champ to be doing.Throwing good money
at mediocre/below mediocre talent. No thanks. I am glad I am not paying 5 grand this year
    for season tickets.
