Aye fair point, though for me it’s less under investment and more lack of success with later picks that used to serve us well. It amounts to the same thing I guess.

I have nothing against the picks (will be interesting to see how Creed Humphrey et al perform throughout the season). I think a vet RT FA would have done us the world of good though.

The injuries to Banner and having to cut DeCastro probably did mess up their plans but every team has to deal with that kind of thing.

FWIW if memory serves me correctly the last time they have used a first or second round pick on the OLine was the year they drafted DeCastro.

Good point. Chuks in the 3rd is the highest we’ve pick OL since DD.

I think their success with UDFAs like Foster and AV played a part in that but can’t count on finding them every year.

Have no idea what the OP is trying to say but its just too much change to that line too fast. We lost one of the best pass protecting lines in the NFL and replaced it with a line that can neither pass protect or run block. What were they thinking? I’ve asked before but how do you not know your last remaining all pro lineman (DeCastro), at that point your anchor, will not make THE SEASON until the day before he’s scheduled to SHOW?

Definitely. The line they have had for nearly a decade grew old together. I can understand why they didn’t need to use high picks during that time but the writing was on the wall since about 2018 for that group.

I suppose with the trade up for Bush and the trade for Minkah meant that they just didn’t have the draft capital to invest in the line

Think it's more like the Home Depot approach, because it definitely needs fixed but we are wandering the aisles looking for the right thing...WHERE THE HELL IS THE DUCT TAPE???!!! (it's in paints section for some reason btw)

They had Feiler last year and couldn't run the ball

Clutching at straws, you know very well I’m not just talking about Feiler. Their approach to rebuilding the line this offseason and in recent years has fallen way short, and its hurting the team. The line was becoming a problem as far back as 2019

It’s also in the plumbing aisle with, of all things, ducting.

Doesn't matter who the OC is when they have to Cater to the QB that is over the hill and lazy. Even in his Prime Ben was stubborn and only wanted to do what he wanted to do (this is why we had the Haley situation). Ben has been handcuffing this offense his entire career due to his crappy work ethic and his holier than thou, im better than everyone mind set.
