It's not sustainable when you're down 4 starters on defense already, and you're not averaging even 20pts per game. This is the combination that will end up hurting us.

How are those teams doing? I think the Titans lost 2 more today vs the Buccs. LT and I don't remember. Maybe it was 1 more. I think the 49ers are getting people back finally. Been some bad luck with QBs going down this season too. Burrow, Cousins, Tannehill, Carr, Murray, Watson, the rookie in Indy, probably others I missed.

I know this is the NFL. Everybody on this forum knows this is the NFL. Speaking on the steelers only though, this team relies on the defense to keep us close in games because the offense has been struggling. For the Steelers, losing 4 starters on defense hurts everything we do. We cannot match scores, because of the offense struggling thing. If our defense cannot keep the score close, due to injuries, there is a higher probability of losing games. Talking Steelers only.

This reminds me of when some people said that the Steelers were the worst 11-0 team to start a season. 11-0 start was a 1st in franchise history.

 

This, and yet some will say at the end.....see.....see.

 

Being the worst 6-3 team ever is still better than being the best 5-4 team ever.

How we do to end the season is going to be pretty squarely on KFP. If he can pick his game up, I like our chances to make the playoffs... But he just can't average 185 yards a game anymore. He has to be able to air it out and win one on offense, because we cant rely on holding teams to under 20 points for the rest of the season... especially with the injuries adding up. Plus, a lot of the best teams in the AFC have really good offenses.

The next two weeks are going to be HUGE. @CLE and @CIN can put us in prime position to compete in the North. We lose both games and will need to have a similar end to the season that we did in 2022 to even have a shot.

 

I still think the NFL shut this down by forcing the Steelers to play 3 games in 12 days. Can't stay healthy on a schedule like that.

 

The Steelers aren't good by our standard. The Pittsburgh standard. But they are still better than at least half the teams in the NFL.

 

The Steelers being 6-3 despite being ranked #31 in offense and defense has to be one of the biggest stories in the NFL this year. It really is a remarkable thing to behold.

 

The story is lies, damn lies, and statistics.

 

I dont care what anyone says, the way we are playing is absolutely not a way to win in the postseason. I will enjoy the wins regardless.

 

They weren't winning a Super Bowl the way they had been playing, but they had a great shot to get to the playoffs and be dangerous when they got there if not for the defensive injuries.

Since 2021 the steelers are 24-18-1 despite being outscored by 119 points!...This is crazy!

 

When the game is close they figure out a way to win. They keep plodding along and wait for the other team to make a killer mistake. KP is 11-3 in one score games since his rookie year last season and has 8 come from behind wins. They drag teams into this ugly quagmire that they are comfortable with but the other teams aren't used to playing that way.
