Only 2 of those teams have a wining record.

Edit: the two winning record teams have good secondaries

Yeah, Haden and Hilton are our only legit players in the secondary. And Hilton had a bad game vs. Chiefs.

Now that's a stat I can hitch my wagon to.
I wonder how many QB pressures Deacon Jones had in his career. Let's see, every down he played per game x every game he played in =.......

It was non existent against the Chiefs... Game against the Bucs skewed these numbers and Fitz stood in the pocket and made some throws most QBs wouldn't. Our secondary is bad but I'm not praising the d-line yet either.

They sacked Taylor seven times, so they got good pressure on the quarterback in two of the three games so far.

We got to Taylor and Fitz a lot and should have won both games. Did we get near Pat? The secondary is garbage.

Play man, not zone. Problem solved.....sort of.

can't, our db's get burnt too much. Only haden can play man.

you play zone in hopes of pass rush getting to qb

    Only one stat matters. Points.

The front 7 isn’t the issue...

In passing situations I agree. We haven't really been tested in run defense this year & I hope this is where Bostic will shine.

    can be flawed though.

see us last year, top 5 in ppg but a lot of those games were played to backup/journeyman qb's.

I disagree. More reps in man would lead to fewer overall points. I have no problem giving up some TDs if it means we are getting pressure and hits on the QB. If they are going to keep calling these roughing the passer penalties, then make the fuggers count, start laying people out. We had pressure on Fitz in the first half and he had happy feet and made mistakes. In the second half, we went gloried vanilla in zone and were shredded. I will take my chances in man.

yes the QBs that we've faced have had the pressure of deciding which wide open guy to throw it to.

It also led to a 13-3 record. Wheels fell off after Shaz went down and no Haden in the secondary. Then jacksonville, it was just a real mess.

They should have realized Mahomes was in the shotgun with zero protection and dictate the throw to him. If they overload the right with zone behind it and play press man on the left he would have had to take the hot read and throw to the guy you want typically the short throw. Instead they rushed four sometimes five with soft zone and no one communicating handoffs. I'd have blitzed Corners and Safeties off that right side until they moved a TE in to help or brought a RB in to add some protection.

I agree. I think our only chance to have a good D is to bring lots of pressure. Doing it with CBs who can't cover anyway is worth the risk. I've said our scheme is bad... and once you go there it's very difficult to judge everything else.

I'd bring the house every down. We are already bleeding big plays to wide open receivers.

We just really miss Shazier. We had a pretty good run D with him around, and he helped so much with coverage. Now that he’s gone it exposes our other backers who can’t cover the athletic TE like Kelce or Gronk, and it exposes our bigger and slower ILB

With him we were overall average which was good enough to win a chip

Didn't we set a record for sacks last year... In blitzburgh? Didn't matter at the end W's and L's kiddos that's it
