This should still be considered a rumor at this point, but a reliable source is reporting that the Steelers will hire former Tampa Bay Bucs WR Coach Richard Mann. It was reported yesterday that he was scheduled for an interview, but coachingsearch is reporting that he will indeed be hired. They are usually reliable.

He hasn't coached in the NFL since being let go by the Bucs in 2009.

I saw this, I was less then thrilled. Why has he been out of football for so long? His choice or couldn't get hired?

He's got a lot of experience so hopefully he can teach our young WR something.

I'm not down on this hire. This guy has a huge amount of NFL coaching experience. During his time with the Bucs, he hadn't had a WR that didn't produce 1000 yards except for one season, and injuries were the reason for that one off season.

Apparently, he's been assisting upcoming players prepare for the draft.

Like hold onto the ball? :smiley1:

In that case I feel better about it, all I saw was Steelers looking to hire Mann, hasn't coached since 2009. That didn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies.

You guys do know Western PA is a hot bed for football talent right? Both for good players and what makes a good player? Good Coack No? Montana, Kelly, Marino, Dorsette, Peep Short (Pittsburgh Mullers) Always liked him. Law, Gilbert, Revis, Chevorine OK He was an Ambridge guy who played for Maryland, never got to the NFL but he was a family Friend. Not to mention my three cuz's Haley daddy and Todd and Razz Felton. Dback for the skins and Buffalo. Also Chuck Knox

For anyone looking for a little Pittsburgh pride, he's the best one to remember. Possibly the best human to ever walk the earth is from Pittsburgh.

This is an article from The Onion's A.V. Club, which is not satirical and is actually a very serious, very good source of media.

It makes a serious and convincing case that Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is the best television show in history.
