At last we may actually use a Fullback!

Even if said Fullback is a coach and not a player.

If I'm not mistaken, Saxton was the RB coach for Priest Holmes when he exploded in KC.

This is most amazing! We all know what Tennessee had in thier FB's and if this RB coach likes using them as well, we may not see the short yardage single back set (with the make the first guy miss plan) this year!

Saxon also did a pretty nice job with Gearhart in Minnesota.

I don't think Saxon has any say in what players are used, it's just his job to prepare them. Haley decides who is used and Tomlin of course.

I wonder if Saxon can turn Bell into a MVP like Adrian Peterson.

Bell can only be a better Bell, and Saxon and Munchak working together to improve their respective areas of responsibility can contribute greatly to that objective. I don't think Bell will ever be AP, but I'd settle for the best LeVeon Bell he can be.

I was hoping someone would mention Saxon!!! YES!!! Also I originally said from the time that Wilson left that I would like to have the Vikes guy so I'm glad about this. I got what I wanted. How fitting is it to have a guy named SAXON as a coach for the STEELERS?! This is a PERFECT fit!

I LOVE this hire and think we upgraded. A sign of a good coach (Headcoach) is the staff he assembles. Keeping LeBeau and the defensive staff was a no-brainer and showed Tomlin wasn't too egotistical. Either that or he just said yes sir to Mr. Rooney when he was hired ( concerning DL).

Anyway I like the Jerry O. hire to replace Spanos. I like the C. Lake hire and now the Saxon hire. The Munchak hire was a coup. The one departure I wished hadn't happened was Montgomery( WR Coach ) who left to join Duke.

Bell, and W. Johnson should really benefit. Dwyer & LSH ( if resigned ) should also benefit and grow. I expect a RB drafted in the mid 4th-6th rds.

All I know is with all these talented coaches and a lot of the pieces in place this better be a top ten offense or they should all go. Yes we need another wr I think cotchery will be back as he said he loves everything about the steelers. We have the qb, the top flight wr, the young running back, and a veteran TE. The Wolf aprons and coaches are there now let's finally live up to the potential.

I agree with this except the part about Montgomery, I think Mann is an upgrade, he has a great pedigree and just look at the season AB and Cotch had. I think that was a great hire.

I'm not gonna put down Mann, I think he's a fine coach. I also feel we made a lateral move with his hire. I just think Montgomery has more upside as he's younger and still growing. He's a fine coach as evidenced by what he and Sutcliff did at DUKE this year.

I like this hire because he has worked in some good to great running games.

    Upgrade IMO
