They aren’t necessarily moving on from Edmunds, they just didn’t exercise the 5th year option, which was $6.75 MM. He wasn’t worth that. They will make him an offer. Someone else may offer more.

Man I hope someone offers Him more.
I don't know if I have watched a D player watch more plays happen then Him.
Just because it's not Your guy doesn't mean You can't help bring Him down.

There are more pressing needs where positions are worse than average, RG, RT, DL, ILB, plus the glaring hole at QB left by Ben retiring, tell me which direction is best to go at filling the SS spot? Edmunds has his faults, and if there weren't so many issues, I'd let him walk. You don't retool by thinking you can solve each problem in one off season.

What if top C is available. You think they have seen enough of green?
I hope I'm wrong but I feel like I have.

1 thing I'm super excited about is more PA passing and for that to truly take hold you need a burner. Look for another rd 2 WR with speed.

Any draft gurus / college football watcher have any guys in mind?

Speaking of DL, the Tuitt conversation needs to be had pre draft. Without him we're looking at another terrible run D year, in turn another terrible output from out ILBs.

The mantra of build from within not only applies to the draft but from the LOS out. We need big guys in the draft!

Tyler Linderbaum is the only C with a 1st round grade AFAIK. I am not a draft guru or college football guy. If he's there maybe they take him... but they didn't take a proper C last year with Creed Humphrey right there in the 2nd so who knows.

I was hoping we could steal Phil Jurkovec in this years draft. He looked great until injury. But he decided to go back to school. He’s going to light it up next year and be out our draft range. Coincidence Tomlins son transferred to catch balls from him??

I can’t tell if Edmunds being somewhat invisible this year is good or bad. Either way if there’s a SS they like in 2nd or 3rd round and our QBs are the current ones. I think letting him go is the move. Next year is an experience/building year imo.

Yeah you're right. Experience year next year. Tomlin keeping Canada and starting Haskins will ensure a top 5 pick- 4D chess.

I noticed Jurkovec too. Big with a strong arm.

He is a UFA. They didn't offer the 5th year option and their is good reason why.

Miles Killebrew is a UFA who played quite well when called on plus is a solid special teams player. I would keep him around and could start in Edmonds place.

So RB Trey Edmunds was signed again. Was on the Practice Squad.
    Why!?

    Guess that means 34 stays?

    yes

he will get an offer. Do I WANT him as a starter? I don't. He and our 2 ILB's were part of the reason why we got raped with the run this year. And he is a liability in most other areas. he has improved, but improving from AWFUL is not enough.
