You have to think if they were really shopping Dwyer than he's the one to go.

Just depends how they view the guys. Batch is a good ST player also. Redman/Dwyer....eh not as much. Also with the whole trade rumor most think it will be between those 2. They also added LSH too who is a return guy...and I'm assuming an OK special teams guy too. It should be interesting what happens with every spot behind Bell...between Redman, Dwyer, Batch, LSH and anyone else (UDFA/etc).

I think Red will be the starter day 1,he battled a lot of injuries last year and when healthy he ran very good,Bell will have a lot to learn..

You forgot to tell us how he would average 7 yards per carry. :lolol:

Bell will be the starter, they want this guy on the field for all 3 downs, he played in a similar offense with Michigan so it shouldn't take him that long to pick it up. If he doesn't start right away, he will soon after, they didn't use a 2nd round pick on him to back up Redman or Dwyer. I suspect they will release Redman before the season.

Unless injured, Bell will be the Day 1 starter. Guy is at the least equal to anyone we have now, if not better. Moves better, quicker and can catch. I'm starting to think Bell will be our Steven Jax hopefully for years to come. IMO, our O line when healthy will be better than average and Bell could have a food room season.

Bell has 922 of his 1793 yards after contact, better then all the other backs in the draft. Give this guy a line like Lacey had and he's going to rack up the yardage in the pros.

I think it will take La'veon time and be the type of back that gets better the longer he's out there.
Health for any RB can be the deciding factor, hopefully, that works for him here.

I want to see how this draftee does over time.

Aye. The more I see and hear about this kid the more I like the pick. What is absolutely crucial to his success, though, is having a consistent and healthy line. I think he can work with what we've got - which should only really get better from what we saw last season.

    Reasons to be cheerful.

    Lol.

I like this new term: I can just see commentators saying "this kid, this kid as been food rooming since the day he got here"

if bell pass protects well he will play. if he doesn't he won't. it hasen't changed for any back we've had, thats seems to be their pet peave.

i'm also not sure redman is the odd man out. he's got better numbers then dwyer. batch will also be in a battle with LSH and curtis mcneal for the 3rd down back spot and don't forget they could be factors in the return game too. batch is good in pass protection though, as is redman and dwyer coming in 3rd. redman is the better receiving RB of that bunch.

I think Dwyer is better then Redman but the biggest reason I see him making the team is that they can get something for him next year if they want to let him walk, why do it now and get nothing for him, Redman isn't going to bring you anything regardless if you do it now or let him go in FA.

I seem to remember Redman and Dwyer making improvements in their blocking last year, but not enough. Our RBs pass protection has been a bit of an underestimated problem over the last couple of years. It was, if I recall, one of the reasons people (including myself) were so high on Baron Batch.

redman is a good blocker. so is batch. part of the reason dwyer didn't play much was his blocking at first. they have all improved over the years.

it is the reason RB's don't see the field here unless they can block. it's been written about before.

in the 3 years that they have been here, dwyer has 4.4 yards per touch with 2 TD's. he was a 6th rd. pick also. redman has 4.8 yds. per touch with 7 TD's. he was an udfa. redman had actually outplayed dwyer so far.
