They need to go back to that Slant-Flat combo! If CBs and/or Safeties are going to fill that hard... next time it's pump fake and GO! They can do it with the slant (Sluggo= Slant-Go) or turn that flat route into out/up (wheel route)

 

Pump fake to flat, throw over the middle instead of throwing into flat would have worked big time on that loss.

 

Once again Kenny misses a wide open slant. For how smart they say he is, he sure doesn’t process open receivers well.

He didn’t throw passes like that in college and he wore gloves then. He’s a rookie and he doesn’t process as quick in the NFL and tries to make up for it with the throw. The game will slow down for him and the passes will get more consistent with time and experience.

 

That's what Aikman said but when you watch the replay, Muth is close to crossing in front of the slant and the defender on him had outside coverage toward the slant. Would have been a risky throw that would have had to have been perfect. At least that's what I saw quickly on the replay.
