I can't wait until the Browns game, so there's something else to talk about.

They have saved themselves 6.5 million thus far and could be more coming. With Connor playing as good as he is they are not really see a drop in production.. Not paying out the contract is likely on their mind as being beneficial at this point.

I guess I don't see how saving 6.5 mil has anything to do with you thinking the Steelers think they made a mistake offering Bell 70 mil. Yeah the salary savings and the future cap space is awesome but they would take Bell over that in a heartbeat. And yeah JC has done a very good job if not great job in Bells absence, but if the Steelers felt the way you are saying then they would have removed the tag so they wouldn't have to pay Bell the rest.

All of what your saying is great but to say what the Steelers are thinking when they still have the tag out there I disagree with. I am not siding with Bell on this I just disagree with what you think the Steelers are thinking. I was one of the few that stuck up for Bell but when he didn't show up week one that all went out the window. Now Bell can go pound salt up his you know where and we can move on, however there is still the fact that by week 10 he will sign(if he passes the drug test) and play for us. When that happens I will root for him but after the season I hope the Steelers show him the door and I also hope that 3rd round in 2020 is worth all this............jmo

I do not think a third round is worth all this. I think the team is making a statement. If Bell gets his way with this hold out what's to say other players won't do the same. The bonus is that the longer he holds out the better our cap situation becomes.

Well you’re wrong and I’m right so there’s that.

LOL just kidding. Really who knows with any of the stuff. What is said in the media by the Steelers half the time is just smoke and mirrors.

I agree but I also feel like with the way JC is playing we aren't losing anything. When Bell comes back that is just another weapon late in the season. People can say what they want Bell is still one hell of a talent and that is what the Steelers see and why they haven't done anything. jmo

I think that is closer to the thinking than wanting Bell back at this point. NY asked why they wouldn't just remove the tag if they thought the extension offer was a mistake and I believe your post answered the question.
