The closure for the race will only affect people parking downtown. If you plan on parking downtown and walking over the Allegheny to the North Side, you're going to be competing for spaces in those garages with 16,000 runners who will be down there earlier than you. If you plan on parking downtown and you are coming in through the FP tunnels you will not be able to go up Liberty Av. It will be closed from 6a to 11a. You will have to continue on 276 and over the Ft Duquesne Bridge and take the first exit past PNC Park, then cross back over into downtown over either the Carson, Warhol, or Clemente Bridges.

    I wouldn't suggest parking downtown.

My personal preference for parking is on East General Robinson St just past PNC Park. If you plug into Google Maps either 20 or 30 East General Robinson St, Pittsburgh and then go to street view you can see where I park. 20 is a parking garage located behind Mullens Bar and Grill. But IMO better than that is 30. On street view it will be the red brick building on the right side of the road. The entrance is just past the alley named Range Way and its underground. Surprisingly the price was only $25 for the Cleveland game which is $10 less than last year. This garage isn't very big...which is good when leaving because you don't have to deal with a lot of cars...so arrive early. Im usually there 2 1/2-3 hrs before kickoff and don't have a problem getting in.

This garage is the first non PreSold lot on the East side of Heinz and is about a 3 block walk to the Stadium. Open container laws be damned on Steeler Sundays, so take 2 or 3 roadies (walkies). Its also the side of the stadium with all of the bars and close to both Gates A&B. C is on the other side of the stadium if thats an issue.

What I like about this place is that its a pretty easy out. In the crowd it may take 20 minutes to walk back to your car, but a right out of the lot, then another right at the light (7th street) and over the Warhol Bridge, then another right puts you onto Ft Duquesne Blvd and a 1/4 from access to 279 or 376 depending on where you are headed.

    Hopefully that helps.

    Have fun.

Going to the Gateway clipper, and taking the boat over might not be a bad idea. Have fun SteelerGlenn. I'd take you up on the offer, but I think I got to hit up the pumpkin patch sunday with the kids and wife. I love the Steelers but love my kids more. Hopefully catch the 2nd half on the TV.

    650 miles/ 65 miles per hour = 10 hours.

As of 4 o'clock today (giving you 30 minutes to pack as of me writing this) you will have 69 hours until kick off. That leaves you 59 hours to spare.

I don't see a problem with distance. :lolol:

Hell you could drive at 1/2 the speed limit and still have 49 hours to spare.

Hey bobby i usually park at a garage next to wyndam grand and then walk over
for me its the easiest cause after the game you turn left out of the garage and its straight back to the interstate
    will i b affected?
im staying in cannonsburg if that helps?

Yep, you're screwed. The Wyndham sits squarely in the middle of the road closures in the links above. According to it, the road in front of and next to the Wyndham will be closed from 6-11. You're going to have to find somewhere else to park. I highly suggest the garage I talked about above. $25 is a bargain that close to the stadium.

I live in Canonsburg. Which hotel? Super 8? Thats the only one that's truly in Cbg. But really close by in Southpointe (technically Canonsburg, but really Cecil) there are 3. Two brand new ones by the Town Center and one at the other end of the Southpointe complex.

If you are in Southpointe you can walk to All Star Bar and Grill in the Town Center and get loaded on Saturday night and not worry about driving. That whole place is new and pretty nice. A lot of great stuff happening in SP. It's the Mecca for Natural Gas companies. Every driller is locating their headquarters there and the Southpointe industrial complex is booming. Everything is brand new.

There's also Blvd sports bar in SP. Big outdoor deck. Same with On Deck Bar and Grill, but its a little bit of a drive (2 miles) and is near Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza which is owned by Dan Marino. If you're into country music, Frankie I's just reopened and usually has a country band. Just don't go into the bars in the actual town of Canonsburg unless you want to experience the dregs of society.

    Edit***
    Winning...

Oh crap. I forgot about the Rumfish Grille. You're about a 10 minute drive from there. Good seafood and if the weather is nice, you cannot beat their outdoor area.

And after that you're only 5 minutes from the bottleshop cafe. Or as we call it, the Model Shop due to the quality of female bartenders that work there. This place sits 2 minutes away from one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the Pittsburgh area, Nevillewood...home of quite a few celebrities. Ex Steelers are known to frequent this place.

Or you could just meet up with Steeler Glenn at Burgh's Pizza and Wings ;) in Bridgeville. I know he loved that place last year.

Yeah I did that a couple years ago and it was good pizza!
Thinking of trying Fioris pizza this year, what you think Bobby?
Also parking in the blue lots won't be affected by that race right? And those lots open around 8:00 or 9:00am correct?

I'm sure most of the parking on the Northside will be unaffected.
Fiori's very popular. Very. I know a guy who owns a pizza shop who when he closes his shop goes to Fiori's. A little greasy for me but not bad.

    I`m lovin that idea!!!
Probably too short term to do it right now, but it would be very cool!
For right now, if anyone going, to this week`s game, wants to pm me their cell phone #, maybe we can meet at one of the gates before the game, and post a pic, here?
I know Coastal and Biz are going. I`m sure there are others...
Or we could just agree to a gate, and time, close to 12:00?
    No cell phone numbers needed?
Take a pic of "The Steelers Fans.com at the Game"?
Wow... the power of social media!
I`m a happy "old man"! LOL!!!
