Chargers doing Charger things.....
Was anyone more stressed watching the end of the Chargers-Raiders game, than the Steelers game? I think I might have been. Simply because of the virtual impossibility of it ending in a tie, and there it was, tied. When the Raiders went up 29-14, I said uh-oh, because the tie was back in play. The 12 point lead was way safer for us.
Has anyone mentioned the missed face mask on the Chargers? Ended up being a loss of 5 and should’ve been a 15 yard gain… Huge for field position and time.
Anyway, a few more years off my life…. No biggie.
Ref was standing right there on the facemask just too scared to make a game deciding call.
At least go back to 15 minute OTs. Also I always thought ties were statistically 1/2 wins, seems the league treats them as 1/2 losses.
This last game day was not as gut-wrenching for me as some others, but anxiety was definitely high. Probably because of my expectations for us going forward.
Yeah, Bettis fumble was probably the worse because of what was at stake that year and we were true contenders.
I remember an AFC Championship game against the Colts in the playoffs where we had to survive throws into the endzone at the end of the game. Bastid Jim Harbaugh giving me heart attacks. That comes to mind under category "gut-wrenching game finishes where we win." The ones where we lose are a whole different category.
I'm glad I fell asleep at halftime. Looked like a fun game to watch from the highlights.
This game is what makes you think the NFL is fixed.......
Steelers should send the Chargers a gift to thank them.
Speaking of ties, anyone curious why Hairball didn't go for it near the end of regulation instead of kicking the game tying FG
It depends. Not including tie breaker rules, when stacking a 9-7-1 against a 10-7, it's a loss (see Cincy, LV and NE). Against a 9-8 it's a win (see Indy, Miami and LAC). That all came into play yesterday with the final standings. If LV and LAC had tied, then the regular tie breaker rules (i.e. head to head) would have prevailed, booting the Steelers out who had lost to both LV and LAC.
awesome. #1 reason why i wouldn't have on purpose go to OT is i don't have faith in anybody to do their end.
I chose wisely. Didn't even watch pregame cause I knew I would get sucked in and it would probably be a crazy game. Didn't imagine it would have been that crazy though. I don't need that much stress at my age anymore.
Thankfully, I fell asleep at halftime. Woke up yesterday morning and the Steelers were 7th seed. Glad I didn't stress myself out watching it.
Stress? Some of you guys kill me. Why watch any games at all. Just pick up a newspaper in the morning to catch the scores.
Newspaper? OK Grandpa. What are they like $2.50 now for 17 pages?
Newspaper was kind of part of the joke. Since you can’t stay up late or handle any stress I figured you’re going to be an old fart. Lol
